1960s/70s regeneration gutted this area. Took away the east end community spirit. And now 98% Immigrants or their offspring in place of the East end people that lived there for generations. i know i grew up there in the 50s/60s
@eturfrey That regeneration didn't benefit anyone but the middle class. I doubt any one from the east end got a job in the big financial district of canary wharf.
@eturfrey That has happened in a lot of places in the USA too. I hate it! The immigrants take over cities that have belonged to other groups of people for a long time. I dont like immigration.
can u tell me whats the best time for amateurs and learners to drive in walthamstow or east london during the day or night when there is no traffic or police out there???
@zeb120 Your guess is as good as mine mate,Roads are quieter between about half nine in the morning till about mid day, then after about half 7 in the evening(Monday -Wednesday),but even then its not that much quieter,as for the police I wouldnt know.
Hey, you took the long route to gallions lol

Actually its a Canadian Goose, surprisingly they are quite common in this area because of the vast wading grounds by the Thames

Me thinks you should rename this video, 'Early morning drive through East Beckton.
Certainly recognise the starting point near Oxleas, and the ending at Armada Way- where l often shop.
Man, your your cars engine sounds rough!
Thanks for uploading..

What time of day did you take this video?
With such little traffic and people around, and so many cars parked in residential areas l thought it might be early morning(dawn)...
elitept 3 years ago
Late afternoon early evening on sunday 18th May 08,it was exceptionaly quiet.

@zeb120 There's no reason to avoid the police unless you're up to no good, which as a new driver you should not be doing.
