What this GREAT song needs is a horn section to play the high harmonies, a good bass and drummer to provide color contrasts, a tasty rhythm guitarist to play some simple melodic hooks, and some backgroud singers going "ooooh" on long notes.

The subtle lisp of this singer is VERY marketable. Some electric effects on the miked voice would blend the song with the electric band, giving it a smooth pop feel a bit like Sheryl Crow and Chicago put together!
