Sometimes seniors just don't wanna give up....and that's ok. I've known several people over 80 yrs old who were thrown from their horse and died even though they were riding a trusted long-time friend. However, I'm sure everyone of them died doing what they love to do and isn't that better than being killed by a drunk driver or horrific disease....I believe it is and I bet they would too. She died not long after this at age 101 I really wish I could have met such an inspirational woman. I think she lived so long because she spent her life doing the thing she loved. We could all take a page out of this womans book.
This gal can ride! At 101 years of age she is still tall in the saddle! Imagine that, most of use are 10 feet under at that age let alone still sitting in the saddle.. she considers herself a horse back rider and still saddles her own horse and gets on her self. Connie was an amazing inspiration. I worked with and for her for 6 summers at Waldemar. She was full of consternation, vim and vigor. She always salted the hell out of her food and liked her beer as much as the next gal. It wasn't the healthy eating and exercise that kept Connie young. It was doing what she loved, unapologetically for the entirety of her life. I remember her often with fondness and gratitude for giving me my first paying horse job.

a Tennessee walker 16.3 hands he is my best friend and he can be.
a big Push over but we are best friends his name is Tex and he is 16
years old. and wean I ride him I do fell like a cow girl he will canter.
only wean I ask him to and I dont know what I would do with out my
partner I have had him will be a year this year and God bless all Cow
