  • My heart is broken. We found this awful disease for a very long time and did everything possible for her. Yesterday, 1/3/12 we put her down. She is finally pain free and runs with the end. For me the pain is unbearable. I pray for a cure for this disease or better yet for no dog to have it.

  • Can you recommend a good syringomyelia resource? I fear that my dog my have this. She shows some of the behavior that your dog has shown but I am not sure whether it is normal grooming, allergies, or syringomyelia.

  • I see that 11,000 people have watched Abbey's video and this truly brings tears to my eyes. We are helping people try to figure out what is wrong with their own dog and I know our video is helping. That truly warms my heart as that is our intention.

  • This is a hard thing to deal with on a daily basis. Some days are better than others, but lately the only time he gets peace is when he is asleep.

  • Abbey is doing pretty good and its been about 2 1/2 years since we figured out what she had and 2 years since her surgery. She occasionally scratches and does have neurological damage from being misdiagnosed for so long--head tilt and tongue hangs out a bit BUT she is a happy dog with occasional scratching and I mean occasional. This dease sucks.

  • Abbey is on meds--she takes gabapentin 3 times daily, predisone and prilosec.

  • For some reason it won't let me post our blog that tells Abbey's story. Do a search for Abbey George Linda and it will come right up. Sorry but when I typed the url it won't accept it.

  • You can read our personal story at:

  • this is really scaring me. i haven't seen a healthy one yet.

  • poor little guy, I have a black and tan cavalier three year old boy called Charlie and it would be the most awful feeling to see him go through this :(, is there anything you can do to help her?

  • has this dog been diagnosed with this because my dog acts alot like this dog and have been wondering if my dog has it!

  • Our dog has the same thing. Were you able to find a medication that helped her?

  • poor poor dog.....
