  • You have to use your dissecting forceps and then you are going to avoid needle stick in your finger and getting infected with HIV or Hepatitis B or C. The intention is good but may be you have to review more with a surgeon.

  • @n1h2g3g4 The way that you are manipulating the needle is not correct.

  • Brilliant...

  • it was awesome..thanks for uploadin..........

  • ty for the knowledge ^_^ i learn more from youtube then a crappy expensive university

  • could someone explain me is there a nerve injury risk during this process?

  • @thehorikoshi The greater risk for nerve injury comes from whatever made the laceration in the first place. If there is nerve injury, it is highly unlikely to be the result of suturing.

  • thanks for the video

  • what kind of scissors r thoughs?

  • @retriverlover97 Straight mayo always for sutures.

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • this video is delicious

  • I honestly can't wait for college next year. I think I may go around and cut a few bitches and stitch them up for practice. Muahahahaha. :DD

  • thansks a lot for posting the videos. Im realy graitfull.

  • cool, no more doctor's visits for bullet wounds or knife wounds either!

  • @00101110o Both gunshot and stab wounds are puncture wounds. Be careful an infection starts to take place right away. That is why it is necessary for any wound to be cleansed, resected and sterilized thoroughly as soon as possible. Bullets are non sterile. Then you are allowed to suture a gun shot wound.

  • love it..

  • nice thanks

  • you holding the needle with your fingers is wrong because yu can get pricked accidentally.I was always adviced by my teachers to hold the needle with Adson Brown or any other toothed forceps. How is that?

  • thanx.. amazing video

  • I was watching a movie and got to think about how you actually close a wound short of cauterizing it. What do you do? You go on youtube obviously. Great instructional video. Now all I need is an apocalypse. I'm ready!

  • So... always grab the needle by the tip yeah?

  • Very straight forward and to the point, nice video, only you forget to stress the importance of the index finger to control the needle holder, although you did use the proper technic.

  • i married the needle

  • great...i learned more here in one minute than at the university in one day

  • poor pigggy ):

  • Shit. Wish I would have thought ahead and checked these videos out BEFORE I had my pal stitch me up. Oh well. He did a good job all considering. Lol saved me a hospital bill.

  • good video but are there any on removing sutures?

  • u r not suppose to hold the needle with your fingers during suturing.......

  • Hey I sutured a deep wound above my eye and I was wondering if its okay that I didn't use waxed nylon just regular nylon. It was the thinnest I could find .013mm do you think it will rip if I try and take the stitches out if the nylon isn't waxed? Today is the seventh day I think I was supposed to take em out 3 days ago :D

  • Do you learn and practice these techniques in medical school? I presume so?

  • thank you soooo much for the video

  • Hello SDcady, I'm an outdoorsman, do some shooting, and work with sharp knives and what not. God forbid I'd ever have to deal with a serious accident but just in case I want to be prepared. I'm looking into adding suture kits to my level one first aid kits, but need some educated advise in the type of suture material being that there are different types. Your video was very informative and hope to see more. thx

  • @J0Gu7 got it in my aid kit too ;) I'll be happy to never use it!
