  • this is a really good vid with a lot of heart. my freind a stones fan showed me this. LA has a magic. this captures it. the music is perf. @ 6:51

    wonderful.

  • do you teach at UCLA?

  • Very odd seeing this, as I was researching something on Virginia Fox only a few days ago, about the time of this repost.

  • Very neat! Enjoyed the video!

  • Hi!

From the couple of film clips i have seen of yours this is the first one I really like. It seems your are good with the nostalgia mode. Made me homesick for America.

By the way, what shitty gravesite Marilyn has! Would not have thought.

  • This was the first of your posts I watched. Excellent. Wish you would write a book!

  • Hey, Bob, I remember this wonderful video! In that golden era of the late 70s into the 80s, a couple friends and I went to see movies there all the time. (With similar dreams of being successful writers.) A bit of a distance from Burbank, but it made seeing a movie an event... Altered States, Excalibur, The Right Stuff... Wasn't "Ships" the old 50s coffee shop that was torn down? Haven't been there for ages, kind of sad to think of it as a ghost town. Now Hollywood Blvd is all cool again.

  • This makes me feel old. It reminds me of all the larger theatres in Toronto that are no more. Lost to Toronto: the Imperial 6, the Uptown, the Eglinton along with a slew of neighbourhood cinemas. :(

  • I just moved out of Westwood to downtown a few months ago, and this footage makes me want to move back.

  • I must be getting old. Made me very sad to see Marilyns grave. Good film.

  • I have the same camera.

Wow what a journey, I miss L A sometimes, then I remember the traffic and it all comes flooding back. lol

  • surprisingly good footage from a still camera. nice little tour.

  • I like it how YouTube recommends Bettie Page videos as a follow-up. According to Wikipedia ,"[s]he is buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery" as well.

  • I'd recommend Bettie Page videos as a follow-up to almost anything. ;)
