I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Forerunner or a Timex Ironman Trainer? How quickly does the Forerunner connect to GPS? I hear that the Timex Ironman Global Trainers can take up to 10 minutes to connect. How easy it it to navitage through the functions?....
Excuse me, to measure the distance/time u take to travel requires another device, or the same "forerunner 305" can measure it. Answer me in my channel please, thanks!
this review was about a year ago...i hope you'll be able to reply. i live in the city...NYC and skeptical on how well the signal is with this particular product. my coworkers have a garmin but not sure specific said that they were disappointed and the signal never went through or was lost during a run...did you have such experience?
It was great 4 years ago (i've had mine at least that long), and it's really cheap now. But seriously - you can do better for not a lot more money now.
ordered one on Amazon yesterday and cant be more excited i run middle school Cross Country and i think this will really help me know how long the various trails are.
omg i just bought one off amazon after watching your review! great review! Been trying to break 13:40 in the 5k but being horridly pacing myself so Im hoping this helps!
I just got my 305 yesterday and took it for my first run. Now I'm looking around youtube to learn more about it, and I really like your demonstration of the website tools. You don't seem to know the much about the features of the 305 itself but you still had good info. Thanks!
Hi! I was wondering if you would be able to tell me how you set it to lap every mile? I recently got a 305 so I'm still toying around with it! Loved the video!
Thanks for the review homegirl. I reckon I'll get me one of them thare 305's. I've been using the Garmin 705. It was designed for bicycles, but I carry it in my hand when I run, it's kinda annoying to do that. There ain't no sleeve carrier or anything like that for the 705, but it is quite handy on the bicycle with the big screen and navigation features..
Thanks for the review. I currently have a Forerunner 201 and want to upgrade. Between the 305 and 405, I think this is going to be the better deal. Thanks!
Great review! I was watching and was surprised to see you ran the Fargo 1/2, I ran it also. I live in West Fargo. I bought a Garmin 305 sometime after the Fargo 1/2 (I love it). I also just ran the Dick Beardsley 1/2 last weekend.
You remind me of Jenny Agutter. She is the most beautiful woman who ever lived.

amateurs take walk breaks. If you have to walk break, you might as well stop. Like i would of just ran 3 miles at 8:00/mile. Then went home.

This thing is hard to beat for the price. It's less than $130 on walmart.com.

So does this watch work as a gps as in tells you map locations and directions? or does it just use the gps for distance and speed etc?

Hi there!
Thanks for the great review, especially the detailed look at the software.
I'm getting into running right now, and I'm gonna go out and get the 305 later today.
I've signed up for a 10k run in March 2011, so the should be enough time to get up and running.
Vielen Dank!

Great review coach. Thank you.
I have just ordered the 305 (bit cheaper than the 405 and I prefer real buttons), I'm looking forward to using it.

@MarineSniperXXX - Really? I always think mine are all over the board! I usually take a few walk breaks that makes them jump around quite a bit.
