  • oh happy days. @I used to live at 9 bramford lane which was very local to this.

  • Nice that it was closed to keep funding politically correct drop in centres, race equality officers and Swahili translators though, because of course those things are just so much more vital eh? NONE OF THOSE SERVICES HAVE SUFFERED AFTER ALL, HAVE THEY?

  • At about the age of 13 i stood on the top board shaking , the late mrs hartley shouted up half a crown---and thats how i made my first dive off the top board---such happy memories

  • I only went once when I was little. But it was great.

It would be nice to see such a lovely building, restored to it's former glory, then maybe I can go back there...And show others how much fun the summer holidays spent there used to be.

Maybe one day, my kids will have the same amount of fun we once did :)

  • @titchy333 I think most kids prefer a dark bedroom playin on line gaming

  • "wow I think I've just seen my grandad when he was a young man diving - magic stuff - now I know where I get my love of swimming from! - how I remember the long hot summer days I spent at that pool and the school training sessions - what a sad ending - come on lets keep it open so our youngsters can once again enjoy outdoor swimming and keep fit

  • I have such happy memories of summer holidays spent at Broomhill in the 1980s. It is such a shame that it has been allowed to rot the way it has.
