Nice that it was closed to keep funding politically correct drop in centres, race equality officers and Swahili translators though, because of course those things are just so much more vital eh? NONE OF THOSE SERVICES HAVE SUFFERED AFTER ALL, HAVE THEY?
At about the age of 13 i stood on the top board shaking , the late mrs hartley shouted up half a crown---and thats how i made my first dive off the top board---such happy memories
I only went once when I was little. But it was great.
It would be nice to see such a lovely building, restored to it's former glory, then maybe I can go back there...And show others how much fun the summer holidays spent there used to be.
Maybe one day, my kids will have the same amount of fun we once did :)
yes the easy rider was awesome. pink ticket for just around a tenner used see you alright for 6 weeks. they must of lost loadsa money that way as we didnt half abuse that system, sports centres, buses all day just for the fun of it. broomhill was our second home and your right that our children shoulkd have same memories of it that we did
wicked times i had at broomhill the dayz when the easy rider let u on the buses sports centers and best of all in broomhill for free summer hols were the best hope it reach its goal and get its funding so my children can have the same memories has me.

"wow I think I've just seen my grandad when he was a young man diving - magic stuff - now I know where I get my love of swimming from! - how I remember the long hot summer days I spent at that pool and the school training sessions - what a sad ending - come on lets keep it open so our youngsters can once again enjoy outdoor swimming and keep fit
wow i remember when this cine was filmed as i was the little boy folding the towel up @4mins 41 seconds on far right amazing , such a sad ending with such fantastic memories of the pool. rip broomhill

I have such happy memories of summer holidays spent at Broomhill in the 1980s. It is such a shame that it has been allowed to rot the way it has.
