@WildBuck007 You've seen a maximum of 20 minutes of footage so far, some repeated from E3. You can't form and defend an argument based on that. Go back to your troll-hole.
I know you like me so much but really. Relax. Take a deep breath. Exhale. And just realise the error of your ways. Skyrim is shit. It is indeed just 1 opinion. But the system not being liked is the most predominant aspect of the game. So I say it is shit because the most played/used part of the game I consider shit.
Chances are. If you hopped in a car and the steering wheel were wrapped in sand paper. You would throw the whole car away because its the most used while driving.
Skyrim is to Morrwind what Ultima 8 is to Ultima 7. It might have some complexity taken from it but it does the atmosphere right. Unlike Oblivion.... or Ultima 9.
Skyrim is different. I am aware of this fact. But the differences are what I mean, make for a shitty game. The game that saves them is ever farther away. Which I can see Fallout3 being a Fallout version of Morrowind to some degree. Skyrim is a totally different kind of game. Thus it is shit, because they sell it as an Elder Scrolls title.
If they just made a game called Skyrim. Nothing to do with ES. Then I would not like it. But wouldn't call it shit either.
Just because it is popular doesn't make it a good thing. Slavery was popular too and look what happened with that.
When people play Morrowind. The experience far outweighs its flaws. Skyrim...they just took a few loose ends from their other titles and slapped it all together with crazy glue.
So big deal the graphics look decent. But the whole package is in the gutter like Oblivion.
The whole thing feels like being lost on a blank canvas.
I'm going to disagree about Skyrim. I loved Morrowind to death.Oblivion left me cold. I bought it with enormous hopes, but found it bland and totally unworthy as a sequel. I've never come close to completing it.
Skyrim is different. It's not Morrowind. It lacks the strangeness that was a huge part of what made Morrowind fascinating. It has different strengths, and unlike Oblivion, it's entirely worthy as a successor.
@Frosthope Thank you, I love skyrim, as my first elder scrolls game, but basically bought oblivion for 6 dollars and only play it for mods. I am buying morrowind soon.
@WildBuck007 shut up dude it's the same series why the fuck does there always have to be someone who wants to compare them, be glad that they didn't stop after morrowind -.-

MGE is a bit of a bitchy little program for anyone who doesn't have bloodmoon. It just wont work. I mean what kind of a mod would you make like MGE and have it ONLY be compatible with bloodmoon
MGE seems awesome but all of the advice and info on it already seems old, even the info it gives out and it's a little frustrating. It's very hard to understand unless you yourself are a modder and the fact that some options are actually missing from the program itself is very annoying. My MGE has no plug ins or anything like that as an option and I cannot use animated grass as a result which isn't game breaking or anything to me, I just wanted to see it for myself.
they say oblivion is 16 sq miles, while morrowind is 10.FOr oblivion, is this including the untraveling mountains, and the are pass the border, which you'll fall right through the ground if you go past the border?
@Varyalover yes, the Imperial province, seat of the Empire and once considered the largest of all the provinces, is according to Bethesda just abit bigger then the Island of Vvardenfell, which is just a small part of the Morrowind Province.
i will make my own meadhall in morrowind construction set, and then i would place out the dancing npcs all over the place. and i will place dancing npcs in the storage room in the start of the game, with the music. everything becoems better with mods.

Hey, Im new to MGE but so far I noticed that setting DistantBlurStrenght to 4 greatly influence immersion. Try yourself. I see that you have it set to 0.
I have my game looking exactly like this, but when i go far away buildings and mushroom trees disappear in the distance... I can see Slothsiem from Vivec though :P
When viewed from above, i know what almost every little spot looks like up close. I know what happens there, i know why to go there, i know how it looks when standing there. I think i might have spent to many hours inside the morrowind world.
One thing that would be nice would be distant land to have a "fading" effect to make it look like it's distant rather than looking like a giant model.
I actually added this to my favorite but after I saw the bar part, now I am going to remove this from my favorites. I better remember to watch the whole thing first next time
Morrowind was a great game, but some of the features I found to be a little annoying, and were made better in Oblivion, 1st, bow and arrows, if I was just starting out I could aim at a mudcrab and shoot at it 5 times and it still wouldn't hit it, annoying. 2nd, sneaking... what a weird way to sneak. 3rd the fact that the world never slept., oh well, they learnt from their, (what I believe to be) mistakes. and and 4th, the 4 dark elf tribes quests I found to drag on way to much.

@PhillyAssassinX Well after playing so much oblivion, Fallout just felt like an exact copy just in a different time period. I still like the game alot, it's just it felt to old to me...
Yup, it'll for sure be another Game Of The Year, just like Morrowind and Oblivion. =D
morrowind has a much much different feel than Oblivion, feels more older, in a good way :) and Oblivion has an engine with much different visuals, they do have similarities, but feel completely different.
@heheIvan I think you misunderstood me, lol. I was saying Fallout feels so much like Oblivion. And then i was saying Elder Scrolls 5 will be the game of the year when it comes out, just like Morrowind and Oblivion.
How good of a computer do you need to run all of these mods?
Currently I only use Better Bodies, Better Heads, Better Signs, Ren's Hair mod, Darknut's Creature Textures & the Visual Pack found on planetelderscrolls. Problem is that the game still doesn't look anywhere near as good as it does in your video.
Practically every MGE video shows Morrowind from the sky, it would be more impressive to just show the start of the game with your character coming out of the ship and looking around, as that's what most people remember from vanilla!
i was wondering if you knew how to fix this problem, ive moved all the files from mge3.8b to my morrowind folder, but when i try to open of the MGEgui, it says that i need to install it to the directory? idk what im doin wrong, help please?
oh dammit! I really need to try again mixing these graphics mods, last time I used them, my morrowind looked like shit. worse than the vanilla one. Guess something went wrong while installing.. Or maybe I just used so low settings? hm... anyways, great video
It's great that the MGE and visual pack 3 make this game look so good. Besides the dated combat, I enjoyed this game much more than the dull Oblivion.
Is there anyway you could let me know what settings you used in MGE. I've been messing with it and trying all sorts of guides but nothing seems to actually change when I actually get in game.
Wooow, I play Morrowind on my xbox, and watching this I couldn't recognise anything. It took me a second to realize when you were looking over Balmora, that is was Balmora. xD
@Watzitoya Wow, I don't know if you're actually being serious or not. Morrowind used the NetImmerse engine, which is the precursor to Gamebryo (used in Oblivion and Fallout 3). WoW was built on the same engine as Warcraft III, which was some proprietary stuff Blizzard developed. They have nothing to do with each other at all.
@Watzitoya Un-modded?That was the stupidest comment ever.So you're supposing that modded Morrowind uses a different engine? That's just lame of you making such statement and not knowing anything at all...
Cab you possibly help me with installing all the mods in the description? I've tried installing it using the directions from the wiki page, but I'm having a lot of problems. The only thing that works is MGE and the grass mod, but the sun's all messed up. Also, whenever a enter and exit the building, everything but the resolution goes back to the Morrwind default. I don't think it can be my specs because I can run Crysis with high settings smoothly. Any help would be appreciated.
Vvardenfel is such a shithole, it's 90% volcanic, blight infected wasteland and only small fertile areas around the edges.
Which is part of what made it such an interesting game, the setting felt very unique, with the hostile environment and the meshing of a slew of different game world cultures.
fileplanet does not cost.... you can register for free but the SUBSCRIPTION costs a monthly fee, and you don't need to subscribe to fileplanet to download morrowind stuff
Hmmmmmm, Somehow I think the gray fog was very fitting for the game, especially in the mountains, ashlands, norther seas and marshes, they don'y look as good if you can just look across the entire region, having a daedric ruin or dwarven ruin loom out of the fog was one of my fondest memories of exploring the island.. PLUS were creatures/NPC's on when you filmed this, I could imagine some wicked lag if you could see every creature on the map with this.
@noeyedeer2jk89sx I know what you mean with the fog - but do understand that ashstorms/rain/foggy days etc. still severely limit visibility, so there are still those moments every now and then. As for creatures/npcs, those fade into view at the original morrowind draw distance.
i think morrowind had alot more spirit than oblivion, worst part about morrowind was cliffracers hated those bastards,i hope they come out with a new elder scrolls soon, although rage is gonna be awesome
is there a combat mod that makes the combat play better? if there was that make morrowind perfect. its so hard to hit stuff in game...like ever fifth hit is all youll get when fighting...
@AmarilloJack yep, if a mod adds exterior content/cells, you just have to check the .esp during distant land generation and it will appear depending on size settings.
Is the Wailing Wench(I think that's what that bar with the music) a real place? I JUST got Morrowind off of Steam and I haven't seen it..so I'm wondering...
:) pretty sure i can play this without any problem whats so ever!! nice graphics.. Well sorta. Some things are sharepr and what really looks different is the fact that you can see so much further without stuff being all greyed out.. i kinda like it better that way though.. still though, i love this game!! i got it somewhere
Anyone have an idea why MGE isn't working for me? I have it correctly installed, I'm sure, but could the cause lie with the fact that I got my Morrowind from Steam?
MGE is one of the best modification I have ever seen. I really appreciate this modification. Bethesda should employ the author of this modification. :-)
And LOD is much better than the original LOD in Oblivion. :-D
Not worried about your "Lag" i have an uber system and for some odd reason i get the worst shutter and lag for no reason what so ever, its just the engine a bit messed up when it comes to taking advantage of gpu's of this era. :/
This gives me a hankering to play this wonderful game... but then I remember the fucking winged dinosaur type creatures and I think... screw that. Or is there a mod to get rid of them?
Jeeez! I wished I could have your comp! :( I could actually run MGE on mine but I just saw closest trees and stones-rest was showing slowly [fps lags xD]-and "panorama" of Vvardenfell wasn't very awesome too..[but i was happy I can run it lol xD]
It looks omp - Vvardenfell is rly huge... Is that Orc at the credits drunk? Hahha I love him xD He moves like he's real xD
Morrowind is a great game. With these graphics, it's even better. But my graphics card can't handle it, so morrowind still has bad graphics. But thanks for sharing this video.
i'd love to have that, yet my comp is kinda crappy and tends to slow down sometimes in morrowind (usually when there's an animated object in view), it still runs at a suitable speed though ^^
i'm kinda glad morrowind has crappy graphics and low spec cos my comp can actually run it. hooray for old games ^^
to anyone on win7 havingtrouble with MGE: YOU NEED DIRECTX 9! I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. Directx 9 fixes it, evenif you have 10 or even 11 like me. You need 9 to even open MGEgui.exe.
I can't seem to get MGE to work at all. I put everything in my Morrowind folder, I loaded up MGEgui, clicked best quality, then I went and started Morrowind Script Extender, and started Morrowind through that. Nothing changed in-game. What am I Doing wrong?
but i have a problem when i try to use ANY mod it doesnt appear in game cause when i had XP and im using 64-bit vista and i know what better bodies looks like but it doesnt appear ingame pls send me email or reply i miss these old mods
it sais i need a fully patched version of bloodmoon...

I'm one of those who was introduced to the elder scrolls through Oblivion. But I wanted to play morrowind as well so I got the game.
Cooler voices (dark elf), better inventory/item system (though not without some flaws of course), can anyone say clothing under armor?
Just don't like the auto block, and the combat is stiff.
Morrowind is hardcore though. With the graphic extender I might play it more than Oblivion (until Skyrim comes of course!

Is there anyway you could let me know what settings you used in MGE. I've been messing with it and trying all sorts of guides but nothing seems to actually change when I actually get in game.
eoughu 1 year ago
Wooow, I play Morrowind on my xbox, and watching this I couldn't recognise anything. It took me a second to realize when you were looking over Balmora, that is was Balmora. xD
I need to get this for the PC. xD

Did you know Morrowing (un-modded) uses the same engine used in WoW?
Watzitoya 1 year ago
@Watzitoya Wow, I don't know if you're actually being serious or not. Morrowind used the NetImmerse engine, which is the precursor to Gamebryo (used in Oblivion and Fallout 3). WoW was built on the same engine as Warcraft III, which was some proprietary stuff Blizzard developed. They have nothing to do with each other at all.

@sargeras9 He's talking about Morrowing, not Morrowind, lol

Any help would be appreciated.

hey sargeras, can you tell me where i can get the MGE please..

Vvardenfel is such a shithole, it's 90% volcanic, blight infected wasteland and only small fertile areas around the edges.
Which is part of what made it such an interesting game, the setting felt very unique, with the hostile environment and the meshing of a slew of different game world cultures.

is the lively tavern one mod or a collection of mods?
gringolazlo 1 year ago
Hey, planetelderscrolls makes you use file planet, which cost money, how to get these mods for free (ones at planet elder scrolls)
itsmusiccentral 1 year ago
@itsmusiccentral
fileplanet does not cost.... you can register for free but the SUBSCRIPTION costs a monthly fee, and you don't need to subscribe to fileplanet to download morrowind stuff

PLUS were creatures/NPC's on when you filmed this, I could imagine some wicked lag if you could see every creature on the map with this.
noeyedeer2jk89sx 1 year ago
@noeyedeer2jk89sx I know what you mean with the fog - but do understand that ashstorms/rain/foggy days etc. still severely limit visibility, so there are still those moments every now and then. As for creatures/npcs, those fade into view at the original morrowind draw distance.
sargeras9 1 year ago
i think morrowind had alot more spirit than oblivion, worst part about morrowind was cliffracers hated those bastards,i hope they come out with a new elder scrolls soon, although rage is gonna be awesome
atthetoast 1 year ago
@atthetoast Luckily there's a nice little mod that doesn't do anything but make all cliffracers non-hostile. Greatest mod ever? Possibly.
sargeras9 1 year ago
is there a combat mod that makes the combat play better? if there was that make morrowind perfect. its so hard to hit stuff in game...like ever fifth hit is all youll get when fighting...
warrenrox 1 year ago
@warrenrox Once you raise the related weapon skill and your agility, you should have no problem making almost every swing a hit.
sargeras9 1 year ago
will this work with custom content from the construction set?
AmarilloJack 1 year ago
@AmarilloJack yep, if a mod adds exterior content/cells, you just have to check the .esp during distant land generation and it will appear depending on size settings.
sargeras9 1 year ago
Look cool, Am guessing you need some serious hardware for this.

Anyone dowenload the game via steam? How does one run plugins without a file directory?
RenneDanjoule 1 year ago
@RenneDanjoule Games on Steam DO have a file directory, it is a little different.
Steam Version: Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\common\morrowind folder
Non-Steam Version: Program Files\Morrowind folder
Steam also DOESN'T encrypt the .exe
smurfofshrooms 1 year ago
:) pretty sure i can play this without any problem whats so ever!! nice graphics.. Well sorta. Some things are sharepr and what really looks different is the fact that you can see so much further without stuff being all greyed out.. i kinda like it better that way though.. still though, i love this game!! i got it somewhere
demonicxxx 1 year ago
Anyone have an idea why MGE isn't working for me? I have it correctly installed, I'm sure, but could the cause lie with the fact that I got my Morrowind from Steam?

MGE is one of the best modification I have ever seen. I really appreciate this modification. Bethesda should employ the author of this modification. :-)
And LOD is much better than the original LOD in Oblivion. :-D

how did you link both water shaders?
menscheskinner 1 year ago
Not worried about your "Lag" i have an uber system and for some odd reason i get the worst shutter and lag for no reason what so ever, its just the engine a bit messed up when it comes to taking advantage of gpu's of this era. :/
LordKahu 1 year ago
So to get distant land blur, animated grass, water shader, etc., I have to download MGE, correct?
MrFloodian 1 year ago
This gives me a hankering to play this wonderful game... but then I remember the fucking winged dinosaur type creatures and I think... screw that. Or is there a mod to get rid of them?
noglet76 1 year ago

RoundElephant 1 year ago
THAAAAAAANK YOU link is Fine thaaaaanks again i love this game with such graphics
HAKERfromGREECE 1 year ago
i'd love to have that, yet my comp is kinda crappy and tends to slow down sometimes in morrowind (usually when there's an animated object in view), it still runs at a suitable speed though ^^
i'm kinda glad morrowind has crappy graphics and low spec cos my comp can actually run it. hooray for old games ^^

to anyone on win7 havingtrouble with MGE: YOU NEED DIRECTX 9! I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. Directx 9 fixes it, evenif you have 10 or even 11 like me. You need 9 to even open MGEgui.exe.
