I'm 22 and representing the new generation I must say this song kicks ass, I blast this in my 69 camaro while others blast their rap. All hail oldies, this truely makes me know why I am American and truely proud to blast this as loud as i can, respect.
So amazing. I don't care how many times I've seen this, it still gives me the chills every time. Great vocals, great drums, bass and an especially incredible guitar solo. Wow.
so here's the story, me and my dad love hard rock/metal like metallica megadeth iron maiden judas priest and all the other cool shit, recently my mom took my dad to a fucking fleetwood mac concert and he said my mom was disapointed because they didn't play the big hit sissy ass songs , he said all of the music was this, and since then we have a new found respect for the guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, so, kudos to him , also he doesn't even use a guitar pick
I love this so much!! At 3:40 Stevie and Christine are just mesmerized by him as he belts it out with all his heart. Great great solo too. Amazing performance...
@laylamichelleluv Got tickets to 'The mighty mac' in Liverpool in January 2012, 1st time i've seen them live since 1990 at Maine Road, Manchester, when Lydnsey wasn't with the band, can't wait to watch the master live!
My god people, if you aspire to walk the corridors of Greatness as a musician, then you have to produce musical genius like this, everything about this track and performance is truly remarkable, all five of this band are gods of music and rarely do you see a composition performed so outstandingly blinding. abslutely amazing and I cannot go a day without watching it at least 2 or 3 times, its become my daily fix lol, please come back to our shore Fleetwood mac
Lindsay Buckingham - one of the best things that ever happened to Fleetwood Mac. Awesome guitarist and certainly a massively underrated vocalist. Brilliant track..
@Conurelover1 Sorry I got you rattled - You clarified, & so that helps. It's just that it seems a lot of people post comments that leave my head scratching, some totally non-sensical. Sometimes this is intentional, so I like to check once in a while with a comment to see if there is a response.
@greenwich1754: ..."non-sensical"..."head scratching", you too? I thought your comment about having 500 favorites was funny {and accurate} because this isn't my only favorite song by Mac and they aren't my only "favorite" band and "rock" isn't my only type of favorite music. In my 50 + years, my taste in music has become very diversified and that's not a bad thing.
@greenwich1754: Let me alleviate your confusion. Go to the top of the page and enter "Fleetwood Mac I'm So Afraid" in the search window. You'll see that when the page opens there are at least 5 versions of this song; not including the version on "Live In Boston" {one of my all time favorite versions}. That's 1. "Rumors" is 2. "The Dance" is 3. 3 + 2 {more} = 5. And, there are more than 5 versions of this great song. Does "one of my all time favorites...and I have many" make since to you now?
One of the most incredible guitar solos ever. A keyboard sound to die for. And a drum performance witnessed once in a generation. All in a single sublime 7 minute clip. ALL HAIL.
I took this CD with me on a visit back home to see my folks. My dad happened to hear it and to my amazement, not only did he like it, but he went out and bought it. My dad (may he rest in peace) was 67 when he bought it. That was the very first time in my life that my father actually liked the same music that I did and spent money on it to boot! Parents, they never cease to amaze you!
Miss you mom and dad:( (I wonder if they have Youtube in heaven)
have been a great FM fan for many years but only recently discovered this and Bleed to Love Her from 'The Dance' tour, WOW, have I missed out. Play them both so much now. Lindey's guitar and vocals are phenomenal!!!
@bobbyfan418 Right on man. Anyone can learn to play the guitar. But to channel emotion through both your playing and singing enough to move an audience is a truly unique skill.
@hudnae Lindsey Buckingham is one of the most underappreciated guitar players. He can easily play as good as people like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, and so on. This song proves just how good he is.
like a lotta different styles mixed up , that organ sounds eerie, but good .I think thats what they wanted. stevie, her voice so meaningful, so full, and those drums.....ummmmm great song . buckingham ...outrageous
This is one of the few concerts in recent times where you can actually see Mick Fleetwood through his drum kit. I wonder if they rearranged it for that purpose. He looks like he's having a great time, but I wish he'd shut his mouth, for he's in danger of swallowing it all!.
@rsreed63 I hear you screaming, Brother!! VERY much agreed!! While his performance on this song KICKS ASS, it's his solo version of 'Big Love' (also from The Dance) that totally and absolutely reaffirms your statement! He's simply an incredible guitarist, singer, and songwriter of the highest order! Numaste.
But it really doesn't matter since this specific gig is one of the best I've seen in my life.
I actually can't stop humming this awesome melody.
And I totally agree on the first two comments on top.
so amazing...
It might sound abit gay but damn it everytime I c the drummer I get a huge smile haha. Gotta love his face expressions and besides, it is always nice to see someone enjoy playing his instrument with so much fun =)
I wonder if the people in this group, realize how truly talented they really are? They are human beings with the what I'm sure are the normal insecurities but when it comes to their musical talent, do they really know how gifted they are, each in their own right and the high regards in which they are held by their fans? Lastly, I agree with alot of others that Mick's drumming and Lyndsey's guitar performance were incredible.
The audience was like who killed the fun. As I said earlier they(FM) had turned into a pale shadow of what they were. Version from 1975 (LIVE) is brilliant. This is boring. Too slow.
Lindsey is an awesome guitarist...because Rolling Stone rates someone or not does not change how I feel about a performer...another underated guitar performer is Kieth Urban...
I don't want to BE Lindsay Buckingham (the position is taken), but to see and hear and feel this is to know that my luck is right up there with the lottery winners.
this has to be one of the best rock n roll tunes of all time, it is a classic and timeless. the harmonies, the drums, the bass, singing, all of it is exceptional. it should be in the top 100 rock songs and top 100 guitar solos also.

I wasn't at all familiar with this one until I found the 2-disc greatest hits collection from 2002. I've been in love with this (and "Go Insane") ever since. Thanks for the posting!

Lindsay Buckingham's guitar work here is phenomenal. I've always loved this song, but watching him play is a true treat.

I wasn't at all familiar with this one until I found the 2-disc greatest hits collection from 2002. I've been in love with this (and "Go Insane") ever since. Thanks for the posting!
