  • So great. He was my hero from Day One in 1943 when I first heard him. Nobody could ever match that voice and that flair. A musician all the way.

  • He learned his breath control from watching Tommy Dorsey play trombone.

  • @bawdybill and also from swimming at the public pool of Hoboken!

  • The Orpheus of America. A lover and a poet. The all time greatest singer of pop. Listen to those amazing sustained notes, so pure. What amazing breath control. This is real singing. Even the wonderful sound of the 40's in the band behind him. I love hearing him sing one of my favorite songs.

  • Live recording 29th July 1944 from AFRS radio show arranged by Axel Stordahl and conducted by Mark Warnow - the voice at the end belongs to Fred Allen.

  • bestsinger of all time

  • I wasn't even born yet. He was a great talent.

  • Good Lord, he recorded this the year I was born. Wow! Its the best of all worlds, Frank Sinatra, Cole Porter and Tommy Dorsey. He does great justice to this song.

This was sung to Frank at his 70th birthday party by Julio Iglesias. Frank's comment: "marvelous" Thanks, Gere

  • Great rendition by the greatest male pop singer of the 20th Century. 5/5.

  • @goldenoldiesPete

    Nope. Listen to Mathis' version.

    Sinatra makes the Top 20....likely.

  • @goldenoldiesPete Frank is a Jazzsinger T_T

  • @ChezzItalia Frank actually is both - he is a pop singer AND a jazz singer, even though Frank repeatedly said he was not a jazz singer. Also, one could argue, that jazz is one of the genres of pop music.

  • Still the best version for a male singer anywhere. Rest well Frank- you gave us much

  • I needed some Frank, and you delivered.

    I thank you for that!

  • Perfection right here! Absolutely genius. its so good.

  • Exquiste!! Thanks so much for posting!
