The elevator head smasher is a *REAL* girl in the booth, not a video tape. Which is why you can talk to her, if you were actually there like I was. The trick is that when the lights change, they are reflecting a different image off a piece of glass or mirror. When the lights change back, the girl is smiling and waving at the crowd.

yea, i can see that, and if you use a big animatronic in conjuction with an actor, then you can get a good distraction and a better scare

it seems like the huge animatronics never get a real scare, mainly just actors and effects, its probly a better deal to invest in more costumes, static props, rooms, and effects, i may not know much, but i have some videos from my home haunt

I believe that it is a different feel with the big animated props.....a lot don't cause "boo" scares but more of a wow moment. Huge props are more of a mood setter and can really bring a theme together. Some can be very scary though. Most of the time you know what a scare actor is going to do, they will scream blah! then jump back into hiding. You dont know what limits animated props have because it is not restrained by being alive. It can rip in half, fly around a room, and so much more.

kewl video. we purchased a few of these items from Scare Factory at the show. The Pumpkin King and the Rabid Wolves. Made for real cool sets, but the mechanical design & construction, customer service etc. was the real nightmare! I spent over 40 hrs.(in 2.5 weeks of show) on repairs, and hundreds of dollars on new controllers.

Then again, it's just my opinion!
