  • one mutha fuckin determined set of rope right there!

  • Brilliant idea!

  • A British magazine possibly PBO did a test on prop shaft line cutters. A 10HP engine was used in a similar set up to this. Apart from rope, plastic bags, fishing line and net were also tried. The cutters that performed the best had scissor action blades, unfortunately they cost the most! The rotary knife type of cutter will cut rope if you are lucky so it is better than nothing. There are at least two brands using the scissor mechanism and these are the ones to have if the budget allows.

  • @techdavey1000 . Motor Boat Monthly did one of the most extensive tests, and the Prop Protector performed extremely well, with the higher priced scissor action cutters only marginally better. To see their test (plus SailingToday & others), visit the Prop Protector Website

  • @ YTubeMoralAction - Not fake, 100% genuine. Thousands of prop protectors sold and in use

  • FAke. It's a CGI. Obvious photosop.

  • neat, simple idea...

  • Are you crazy? You musntn't make a hole in the shaft! This is the beginning of a fatigue crack!

  • Doesn't look like he is making a "hole". Just a dimple for the set screw in the cutter thingy to fit into.

  • i work with those rope cutters, they just use a grubscrew into a dimple as you just said. most of the time, you dont need to make a hole. they sometimes come in two halves with protruding blades. the two halves just bolt together and compress onto the shaft.

  • Is the prop bronze or brass or ???

  • Bronze

  • cool
