Another great arcade walkthrough John. One thing I'd like to point out though is that the cockpit Star Wars cabinet is not as rare as you might think. Its simply more desirable then the upright, which is why the prices are much higher most of the time.
As the owner of 1984, I want to personally thank you for taking the time to put up this video, and I want to thank everyone for their positive comments. 1984 is a labor of love, everything that happens there is done for the fun of it. Yes you will only be charged $5 at the door, yes all the arcade machines are on free play (Pins will still cost you a quarter). And the Star Wars is worth anything I say it is, since I am not going to sell it. :)
Great idea for an arcade. Pay $5 and you get unlimited play. I played a lot of ghosts & goblins in the arcades and forgot what the cabinet looked like.
Great looking place! Wish I still had retro arcades where I live. People just don't understand that thoes old arcade games would probobly bring in more money than the new ones. But I guess it's all realistic graphics and 3D now adays. (No offence to your 3D channel cause it freaking ROCKS!!!) Not that their bad but theres this strange feeling I get whenever I play older games. Great video man, keep it up!
I commented before the video was over, and see 2 dozen more classic titles. And a Pong cab?! My god, this place is 80's nostalgia personified. How I wish I had something like this around me. I'd be there all the time.
Man, that sucks I missed this one when I was in Springfield. Looks like a classic 80's joint. Scrolling by and I see Tron, Moon Patrol & Qbert. I was sold immediately.
And good to see a young kid playing the Moon Patrol.
I am told that the Donkey Kong Jr. cabinet is actually called Double Donkey Kong because it is supposed to be a multicade of DK and DKjr. That's just what I was told.
@terryfink Maybe if they had other businesses they would just need to pay for overheads and keep this place for fun. That's what I would do if I could.
@PSI236 True, I wasn't knocking them I was just wondering as to have staff a bar and loads of machines, to cover the obvious you would have to have a few in at all times. Still cool though, nothing like that within 200 miles of I live.
Wow have not seen a Bosconian machine in a long while - I rented one for my 18th birthday lol.
Some really good 80's cabinets there. Really cool arcade would love it to be close to me, but your videos will have to suffice for the moment. Thanks for the tour.
Did you say $2k or $10k for the Star Wars Cockpit? It sounded like $10k, but they go for around $2-$3 in good working condition from what I've seen on KLOV.
Thanks for the video, this is one of the arcades along with Funspot I want to check out someday. I've never seen video of the inside of 1984 before.
Wow, that arcade is awesome! Especially like the Gauntlet, that game is awesome. To bad they don't have any arcades like this near where I live... Keep up the great videos!
@dumbfk12 I recommend just Google searching for one. That's how I find out about the arcades I go to. Good luck, and I'm sure there are plenty in So Cal. .
@Gamester81Arcade Actually I recommend Aurcade.com, but I'm biased. :)
Seriously, there are (or were... some of them are closed) close to 70 arcades in the state of California listed on the Aurcade site. Some of those listings I must give credit to you John for discovering them so that I am able to update the database. :D
Do you still have to slip coins into the machines? And the staff will open the locks with their keys in downtime?

Im pretty sure there were more of those Star Wars cockpits made that most people are lead to believe. 10K might be a bit optimistic of a value.

@chevelle396guy Very true, he over estimated the value by almost double.

@terryfink Yeah it's interesting to discuss. It sounds like it's an evening place so maybe the owner has a daytime business as well.

IKARI Warriors != Warlords :-) Great video as usual.

If you ever make it to Funspot in NH let us local folks know. I have a house near the place. The local King of Kong people are there all the time.
