Moreover, during the Menderes era the Turkish call to prayer was replaced by the Arabic version. Accordingly, although Ataturk inaugurated a secular constitution it has been gradually diminished by actions which shackle the enlightenment of civilians. Thus, education needs to the reinstated.

@BozkurT187 Well, actually I am Turkish as well, and I was under the impression that he went to a religious school for a single day. I know his mother was definitely religious, but he had very strong influences of Western philosophers later in life, and if he was religious when he was a very young child, it seems very unlikely that he was so as an adult.
I think he used religion to get the best results out of his soldiers but I am not sure if he was as religious as you belive he was.
