  • I Love You. Please Marry Me. Just Kidding. Outstanding playing. I'm going to borrow some of your licks.

  • Bass solo, awesome.

  • I so love being able to stumble upon such a good performance when I have time to surf youtube! This lady is awesome!!!

  • One of the most unusual approaches to guitar I've ever seen. Playing clawhammer and other banjo styles on guitar, with great musicality too ... wow!

  • omg who is this? and what style is that?

  • @littlemaddancer

If you just look at the description it tells you. This is Muriel Anderson. I couldn't pick a particular style to this. She is playing traditional Bluegrass/Folk/Appalachian music. Starts out as Old Joe Clark, at 0:27 it's Angelina Baker, then at 2:17 it turns into Foggy Mountain Breakdown. As for the style, She is playing it like a Clawhammer Banjo, called "Frailing." You cannot necessarily pick a style to this amazing music.

  • Frailing a guitar! I'm in love... ^..^

  • OMG! Awesome Picking... Loved it! And so did you... you could tell!

  • old joe clark

  • Thats old joe clark

  • @mandotoot Yes, in the beginning it is Old Joe Clark, but it changes to Angelina Baker at 0:29, and then to Foggy Mountain Breakdown, by Flat and Scruggs at 2:20

  • @joefrompic Joe said, "Old Joe Clark, Angelina Baker, Foggy Mountain Breakdown". My bad.

  • Genius -

  • Wow, I wish I could do that!

  • Beautiful!!!

  • I am opening a website to encourage people to send in Blue grass music videos; This was a great video; very gifted playing. May I have your approval to use this video as an example of instrumental blue grass music? The music is so uplifting. Thank you for your review of the above. plan to launch in June-July. family oriented site.

  • Bluegrass on a classical guitar. I love it!

    Ken, Toronto

  • super, this girl can play

  • top of the class

  • Now *that* was cool! Loved the Foggy Mountain Breakdown finish. :))

  • Frailing on a nylon string guitar...now that's odd. Sounds surprisingly good though.

  • Cool. Sounds somewhat like a Brazilian 'Viola Caipira'.

  • interesting hearing a banjo line played on a guitar but cool!

  • was the joy on her face as a kid to play with tommy Emanueul.. made all the diff :-)

  • I play a bit, an i listen a lot but i think that in this lifetime that's the best i've heard so far. Thank's Murial and thank's LoopDeville.

  • I watched this 4 or 5 times in a row. It's great.

  • WOW!!!

  • Doc Watson, Flatt and Scruggs would be proud of you. Your fingers dance across that fretboard on gossamer wings. I'm in luv.

  • Hottest chic on the planet!!!

  • My dream girl....not only is she beutiful but she can sure play that guitsr.

  • what style is that any way dropthumb flatpicking

  • I was about to write how good I felt after hearing and watching this video, when a parisian mosquito attacked me. After a quick fight, I did lost the vibe but still wish to hear more, and hope to hear it live once in my life. Any infos about a "tour" in Europe?

  • fab!

  • WOaH,Can i have a private guitar lesson? You made me smile because you're that good!awesome pickin there!

  • This video has become an addiction to me.Can't stop watching it!

  • paradise on earth. You´r absolute wonderful.

I will go out and burn my guitar.

    I love you.

  • Λατρεύω αυτό το κορίτσι

  • Great performance. laid back, groovin'

  • NEAT!! Do you frail the guitar using standard guitar tuning?

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Nice Pickin` bluegrassbill.

  • Oh Murial. First I heard your beautiful fingerpicking on that harp guitar and now you're frailin' , a guitar! As an old fingerpicker myself I know how difficult the whole change of motion required to frail can be. Took me forever. You and your music are wonderful. Why did it take me so long to discover you?

    mandomick

  • Murial has come a long way since the "wildwood pickers" days

  • Wonderful, I flatpick appreciate watching how you approach bluegrass. I would love to learn to pick in that style but I doubt if I have time is this life to learn lol. Good work good music.

  • Your amazing!!

  • I was mesmerized by those fingers. She can reach more frets than any player I've ever seen! I'm not so sure they didn't leave her hand at some point!!

    Talent to die for!

  • Great guitar picking!

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Muriel is sooooo gooood!!!

  • Very goof feeling and exact rhythm 5 stars

  • Ove of my favs! So smooth and flowing, not bad on the guitar either

  • she is very artistic in her picking and playing. very good.

  • Such expertise, absolutely amazing.

  • This was amazing... It makes it to my playlist for sure!

  • Beautiful, original and technically brilliant. Starts with Old Joe Clark using a wacky combo of frailing technique also known as clawhammer as redneck so rightly mentions and then uses just about every fingerstyle under the sun LOL, and ends with a Foggy Mountain Breakdown version that would have had Earl Scruggs himself blown away (ok, she sorta flubbed one line...that makes me like her even more; she's human!)

  • Beautiful, original and technically brilliant. That's Muriel.

  • Great pickin'! Looked to me like a kind of hybrid clawhammer and classical arpeggio technique, but not in standard tuning. DADGAD capoed to E perhaps?

  • Nooo...She's gunna marry me, got that.

  • marrryyyyy meee!!!!!!

  • Great but is she really doing clawhammer as someone stated? Sounds like regular classical guitar technique. Hey Muriel how about posting a lesson or the notation.

  • offtime? technique pretty good? I'm just an old flat picker but I thought it sounded just fine...no GREAT!

  • Amazing.

  • Wonderful picking with flawless technique. The timing is not being skipped -it is the way the tune is played. She makes it look easy but it is not, especially on a big wide flat classical fingerboard for such small hands.

  • she's not offtime dipfart, how do you do that clawhammer on the guitar there? can you do the chet atkins style as well. it bugs me that the only thing I can use is a dadblame piece of plastic.

  • I don't know if she's skipping time on purpose or not, but it's a little annoying. Other than that she's pretty good technique-wise.

  • Beautiful...in so many more ways than one!

  • great picking . shes at ease.

  • Pretty woman...great music...sigh...wish it was me.

  • Absolutely amazing! Bluegrass on a classical!

  • Stunning and nice to see a nylon string guitar being used for a lovely mellow sound.

    Regards

    Jim Clark

  • Check out Tommy Emmanuel

  • I think we are all familiar with tommy E ty,we are here for her cause she hangs with the boys n kicks some of their asses too

  • Muriel has been doing remarkable things on a guitar since she was a teenager. I have known here for many years and seen her perform hundreds of times and she still blows me away.
