  • Hi there, I`m not that familiar with Vangelis stuff on the whole ( except for the awesome 1492 soundtrack album ) but it sounds nice and atmospheric. If you want to know how to be an audio engineer ( to mix your stuff ) then I suggest that you watch some tutorial videos on you tube to get you started and point you in the right direction. You didn`t state whether you are using hardware audio equipment or software or both (like me) although the principle of mixing is still the same.

  • @WhoresOfBabylon Very basically you need to review and solo each part and adjust the EQ and FX for that part only. Start of with the sounds that are the backbone of the tune and then mix and add each track as you go ( adjusting the vol for each one in the process ). For a regular tune the order would be something like : Drums, Bass, Guitars, backing synth, lead Guitar/Synth, Vocals. You are basically building up a mix of the song bit by bit.

  • @WhoresOfBabylon An easy way to fade it at the end without using some kind of automation is to load the finished Wav/Mp3 file into a separate audio editor afterwards and then make a fade on the required parts there. Oh and if you like you can here my Visage cover by viewing my channel ( there is also a cover of another 80`s tune - Spandau Ballet`s To Cut a long story short too )

  • @WhoresOfBabylon Much enjoying your work. To Cut a Long Story Short is superb. I'm getting the hang of mixing now. Using Cubase solely, it just took a while to get used to the automation and grouping tracks was a godsend when I realised that. It's all good fun. Love making noise:-)

  • Still sounds very beautiful even without the CS-80 here :) I always sat glued to the TV was a kid watching Cosmos, dreaming of going to all those other galaxies. I miss that dream.

  • @gavincurtis I think there's a wee bit of CS80V in there:-) Not a patch on the real thing but better than nothing:-) Cosmos had me spellbound as a kid too. Go on keep on dreaming.

  • Wonderful, a well done bit of sound. As Raggymo stated, gives you the chills. Any music that can toy with my emotions is good.

  • @Thelonous Thank you. I wish it was my composition. Mr Vangelis gets the credits there, I'm just copying. It reminds me of Carl Sagan, and here's to him.

  • completely chilled while listening to this... thanks!! x

  • @raggymo I hope this reply gets through because each time I try It gets blocked. Thank you for watching dear viewer. Your comment is much appreciated:-)
