@TheSnarfal males tend to be a lil mean around breeding season and females tend to be a lot more tolerant about being held. Over all it depends on the monitor itself. Theirs no guarantee he/she will like you or let you hold them. More then likely if you have your husbandry right and take care of them well they won't mind you holding them. Monitors are not leopard geckos. Period.
fat tail on ackie doesnt always mean healthy. and adult ackie will avarge at 20 inches in legth and you need at least a 120 gallon tank witch is 4x2x2 in feet with a solid top
yea and measure a 120 gallon standard size fish tank its 4x2x2. Ur tank might be 4x2x2 but its not 60 gallons. my 180 gallon is 4x2x3. get ur facts straight or go cut your throat
hes about 3 months old, His name is Spyro(named after a cartoon dragon) and he has some broccoli and 1 cricket 4 breaky. And at 7:30pm (his dinner time) He has about 6-8 small crickets. He is very cheeky and he is in luv with his water bowl. He is always hugging it and sitting in it. lol :P
Anyway thnx 4 the tips on the ackies anyway. I appreciate it. I might get an ackie 1 day but now im focusing on helping Spyro grow up to be healthy and full grown. My previous dragon didnt go too well. :(

4x2x2 tank is about a 50-60 gallon tank dude
guambomb832 2 years ago
actually no its not. 4x2x2 in feet is 120 gallons exact. my 4x2x3 comes out to a 180 gallon
hopkins189 2 years ago
Wait are you taking the regular dimensions l x w x h? Because my 40 gallon's dimensions are like 36" x 18" x 16" and those are pretty close to 4x2x2.
Maybe you are talking about the regular aquariums which are more of length than width, because mine is specialized for reptiles
guambomb832 2 years ago
it doesnt matter weather its made for reptiles or fish. Find a converion and it will show you. those extra couple inchs will make a big difference.
hopkins189 2 years ago
Dude, I have a 60 gallon. EXACTLY 4x2x2.
gothkenny 2 years ago
are u fucking retarded. 4x2x2 is 120 gallon. like go find a conversion and fucking check it u retard
hopkins189 2 years ago
I have a 60 gallon in my room. I measured it.

Nice Ackie! She is gorgeous! I am probably getting one in a couple of months when they are starting to hatch. Can u give me any tips??
Ellenluvsya 4 years ago
ackies are great!
I have acouple and eggs.
Make sure you feed them well if they dont want food they generally dont eat it!
Keep there basking temps at 130 farenheit ( 50 celcius)
Try not to handle them too much.
Make sure they can burrow weather that is deep substrate or a burrowing box.
They need a uv bulb/tube.
