  • im an AKA and ive never understood why its a big issue for non AKA's to say they want to be an AKA on here; as long as they arent SKEE WEE ING it shouldnt be an issue; now for ASPIRANTS i will say when you get to the yard use DISCRETION keep your intent to yourself; dont tell fellow students cuz people hate; when the opportunity to show your interest comes around (greek mixer) do so

  • Aye!

  • So is it wrong to pay a compliment. Wow I love the AKAs I always have nothing but love for them. I will stop complimenting them though if its not proper.

  • All of my aunts and cousins are Delta...my mother is AKA...

I have no idea what im pledging...

  • @CutieCanadian91 ur like me my sister is going to pledge delta grad chapter all my cousins are deltas 1 aunt and 1 cousin are both AKAs my mother didnt pledge but says i should be a zeta i want to be and AKA but if they keep pulling on me ill be a sigma gamma rho im only 14 so i got a couple of years wish me luck

  • Deltas.

  • Great Job Soror!

  • Want to go to college or build a fortune in life? go to facebook collegeplannnigservices or

    1-800-811-4546

  • Ok that was great... people that are wanna-bees u shouldnt say pledge because to tell the truth greek orgs aren't supposed to make people pledge and if u do say u wanna "pledge" at least not have your profile picture on there. and if u kno theres a chance that they night look you up if u want to be it so bad y risk gettin caught

  • 2 fiy

  • hey what happend to that lady who said she turn her life over to God and she said she was comming clean about the AKA..did she get run off of youtube?

  • I lhuviinq dhis pretty as usual!!!

  • I know that it takes a lot to become an AKA member and i am willing to learn everything there is because i know that i have the looks and class to become apart of AKA i am only 14 years old but i hope and strive to become apart of the sisterhood of AKA in the near future! Omg their step was soo pretty and done with such precise movements and priss i absolutely love it "cause when you're number one you can act that way!"

  • I know that it takes a lot to become an AKA member and i am willing to learn everything there is because i know that i have the looks and class to become apart of AKA i am only 14 years old but i hope and strive to become apart of the sisterhood of AKA in the near future

  • Now that's some PRECISE steppin baby!!!!! Luv to u all, Sorors from Virginia.

  • O-M-G!! Omg wat gurl lol

  • Skeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-wee!!!!

  • Love them they step so prissy. But wen ur the flyest girls on campus u can act ....that...way :D

  • I'm willing to humble myself and learn as much as possible (everything) about being an Alpha Kappa Alpha. But to all the true sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha PLEASE don't crush one dream about becoming an Alpha Kappa Alpha.

  • I see that there are many comments on A.K.A's and pledging. I'm sure anyone that is everyone(women) who would like to pledge know a little something about the organization. But at the same time knowing a little is not gonna get one in. No I'm not an A.K.A, but some day I plan on pledging. Because I know I have what it takes to be a pretty lady. Youtube one thing about it is that I'm not coming into it especting a easy go round, because I know it's not gonna be handed to me.......... (CONTINUE)

  • ladies pleez stop DELTA SIGMA THETA all of the way OO-OOOP

  • @cierraschaney10 just as long as she has her money then she's in!!

  • @cierraschaney10 Excuse me, soror. Sisters like you are the reason sisterfriends choose the wrong path. I don't know what chapter you hail from, but they obviously did not teach you right. Yes, it is invalid to call yourself a "future" member of any sorority. However, these young ladies do not know any better. Most AA women are first generation college students and they do not know the ropes. TEACH THEM in order to make them the women we are looking for. That is your duty. Don't chase them away.

  • @iBlissTV With all due respect soror, my intent wasn't to chase them away. There is proper protocol to expressing their interest and scream it out on youtube is not one of them. If you have true interest in Alpha Kappa Alpha it will be apparent in the things you do, not say what you say.

  • @cierraschaney10 apparently if you are an AKA , you had to have been a wannabe at some point. You didnt just spring out the womb an AKA. Get over yourself sweetheart. I am not an Alpha Kappa Alpha but if the girls acted like this, which the majoriy don't, i dont see why anyone would wanna be one

  • so niceee wowww nicee...

  • When pledging, I hope its more of an adult situation; an interview, questions asked, personal conversation, and a credentials/ community servince/ grades overview - not simply a popularity contest...

  • @nothighleftbehind i agree, i hope so too! and not just with AKA but with DST, Z PHI B, and SGRho

  • Shout out all the way from SK Canada.... You girls are amazing. Very cool.

  • i love yall 1908 gurl. so keep on skeeeeweeee..

  • Sad part about it is that even if you show your interest into the life of greekdom its not about whether you want to be apart its about whether those who are in want to call you their brother/sister. Politics is a bitch but hey even if you do not recognize it everybody goes by em. At the end of the day it is a popularity / give and take situation. If you cool with alot of us then you in, and if you really dont need the organization to be a prestigious being then they want you. Thats it.

  • @CROBERTSON90 its not about what the organization can do for you its about what you can do the organization.

  • So I hope I don't offend anybody with this question, but why is it important not to say what you want to pledge? I'm just wondering because what if you really do want to pledge, how are any sororities going to know that you want to if you don't atleast mention it? Like I said I hope this question doesn't offend anybody because Im just curious

  • Great job Sorors! It is always a serious matter because in 1908 at Howard U there were 16 young ladies who knew what to do...oh oh -- don't get me started! LOL

  • good jobs ladies very well put together

  • first of all when I commented it did not target a black or white frat or soro..... do your research honey, does it in line with what GOD stands for and his word???? educate your self before you decide to comment on something you have not done research on about soro and frat... AGAIN WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE.... i only target blacks cause these or my people and i am black if we dont stand for something we will fall for anything... PEACE I AM DONE TALKING

  • i'm not suppose to say it cuz its considered braggin..(was told this by some one at TNSU) but who cares aint pledgin anyway my mom my grandma and my aunt were all AKA's

  • i just want to say for all the people on here trippin because a few people are saying they want to pledge or join AKA one day-what is the big deal? Yea, you're not supposed to let people know but thats in your everyday life and around campus. Youtube, for the most part, is anonymous so i doubt them SHOWING THEIR LOVE for AKA on freakin youtube is going to affect them being able to get in. Some people get into these sororities and turn ignorant...trying to lord over people. I hate that crap.

  • Thank you so much for saying that honey I think the same thing everytime I see people jumping on a person who says they want to pledge, It;s youtube, most people do not look up the screen name and all that stuff. I know the people @ my school don't :-p

  • I agree folks need relax ... after 10 years in Greekdom I have seen some of these negroes get so stuck on stupid it's not even funny. Be glad folks are interested in your org. Don't get letters and get stupid. Jesus. It's You Tube ... this isn't a campus. Chill out.

  • @nalabaybey I agree !!!

  • @nalabaybey .... I feel the same way. I mean what is the big deal? It's like they are making one feel they are not good enouhgt to get in the sorority, and yet they forgot they was not always an A.K.A, Delta, Zeta, or even a Gamma.

  • @nalabaybey eiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie lol AKA SIMPLE

  • that was sharp, on point and hard without losing any type femininity in the performance at all - well done!

  • AKA!!! ii so want to beh one, nomatta wat, the are da strongest pwettiest gurls eva....and i want to beh dat gurl!!!

  • that is for sure, discretion is the key

  • im not an aka

    but i do know

    that your NOT supposed

to say what you are pledging

    especially not on the

    internet......

  • shut uppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hundreds of thousands are doing that on you tube. you just have to the odd ball

  • so what??

every soror on here has said not to tell what sorority you want to join i really could care less about being the odd ball and anyway most of the people on here saying there going to join dont even end up joining thats all i have to say to you and if you do reply dont expect for me too argue back because this is youtube i dont know you but i felt like what you said to me was stupid and i thought i should tell you so

  • my mom thinks its crazy that i love aka so much nd cant wait to pledge:but then again she used to b a delta

  • class of 2011

    cant wait till college

part of aka family within my family

  • 3 more years till im in colleqe,

i cant wait to experience all of this.

    im already excited.Lol.i wanna pledge.

but my mama was just an AKA Sweetheart, and she said that when you pledqe, its not the best thinq to let everyone know about it.

  • so what do you think you just did.

  • omg dis da first time i seen dem wit heelz

  • omg i luv dis vid...ma fav is da first 15 minz

  • Lol..never thought i'd see my AKA sistas wearing flats

  • its pledge hunny, and im right along with you

  • that girl NewNew put "skeeeeee eee" ummm somebody tell her.. nooo hunnie.. nooo.

  • To the young ladies, please do not tell people what you want to pledge, especially on youtube.

  • most of the people telling it dont know any better or know why they're not suppose to tell

  • you arent supposed to tell ppl...wow good job

  • Sweetheart! It's not about the color, there's more to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and any other organizations then just the color, sign, or call. Do your research! And find a true purpose to be in a sorority (specifically AKA) then just a color!

  • theres another video with the same girls i think but i can no longer find it. Does ne one know where i can find it

  • Thanks Soror Courtney!

  • I can see why my mom joined Alpha Kappa Alpha. Those girls know how to get it!

  • Question to all the greeks- I definately want to pledge to a sorority because I really want to share sisterhood and want to be involved in community service- and I know that it's not wise to say exactly what organization I want to be apart of, but is it okay if I express my intrest to want to pledge period on campus?

  • Yes it okay....Some greeks on here get very anal when you say which greek you like to pledge or ask questions about it like somebody is watching your every move or something lmao....but how will you know if you dont ask and express how you feel....but I think thats it great you want to pledge for the right reasons......most got these ladies and fellas be pledging for all the wrong reasons now.....

  • From the facts, you

can tell that some of the conclusions are definitely true and some are definitely false. If you

  • You can say you want to go greek that's fine but yeah totally cosign with charlie .... you can show interest but you can't be that out in the open with it because that's just showing off....basically don't mouth about being greek unless you are greel.

  • AWW MAN im sad it ended but i LOVED it!

  • I am so fascinated by the Greek sororities and fraternities as a whole =) they did a great job

    simply,

    Janette =p

  • jojo12492: You might want to chill out with that. I go to an HBCU. I'm not a Greek, but I happen to know that it is very rude and disrespectful for someone who isn't a Greek to do the Greeks' signs and calls. Furthermore, if you DO want to be a Greek, you might want to keep to yourself exactly which one you want to be, because bragging about wanting to be one will only hurt your chances of becoming one. Just thought you should know...

  • your so right, not only did i hear that it is a sign of disrespect to call out or do their sign from my cousin (whom is an AKA); i've heard it from other frats in soros in general... like, u can't do that. this is for future reference to anyone who wants to pledge... do not associate urselfs with the frats or soros if u have nothing to do with them. u will lose ur chance of gettin to that point of sayin ur in that greek... u don't wanna do that, trust me

  • the rocked it people who hatein back off

  • Skeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Sorors

  • THAT WAS SO CLEAN....GREAT JOB

  • I like it! Actual stepping soros...that's what I love to see.

  • Being a lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha is about service NOT strolling. Also, its not a good idea to blast on youtube that you want to be MY soror.

  • well i hope you do just study up on your history get to know your sorors and show them that you want to be an AKA because of more than popularity and cool points!!! Make sure you have enough time for this and good grades. Look like you care about yourself and good luck!!!

  • Get it sorors. You all looked Skeeeerific!

  • Yall dis yall thing on this one.. BREAK IT D0WN!!

    lol..

  • I luv this one.. I luv yall outfits 2!!

  • Wow this is hot Sorors!!!!

  • i luv aka's!!!

  • Omg.. I hate when ppl say ignorant things about aka's when they have no clue about what they're talkin about.. but i guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion..

  • jeribabe, why dont you go do your research b4 running your mouth

  • it's far to blatant that u both are ignorant to the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha soro inc.

so research please... knowledge is power & read is fundamental...

  • man you need to chill stay off they videos if you hate them I may be 12 and allbut trust me I know my AKA 4 your info AKA's give back to the commuinty and as for them being pertty they give girls confidence saying there pertty the way they are AND GO DO RESEARCH B4 RUNNIN YOUR MOUTH I LOVE MY AKA !!!!!!!!!

  • There's a lot more to the organization than the limited knowledge you get from their website or wikipedia. You may know that much of it, but there's a TON you don't learn until the intake & membership process.

  • You BOTH need not base your "opinions" off of stereotypes because that's exactly what you're doing.

  • ignorance darling ,you are intitled to ur opinion but my org is 101 years old & u dont get that old just by looking good &being pretty there is history & value behind everything my sorority has done when u do ur reseach about the mississippi health project, the cleveland job corps, the 1st black woman to chair a major political party convention u'll see AKA so before you make asumptions research what other organization of Black women can take over washington DC.... SKEE WEE to my sorors all day

  • @prIVYskee44 the word is spelled ENTITLED not intitled

  • @prIVYskee44 hater

  • these are some of the best AKA's i've seen step and stroll on Youtube...get em!!!!

  • perfekT!!!!!!..

  • 2 candyfro....Thanks 4 that information.I dont do any of the things that you named but now i no that people should not be doing that an now when i see people i know doing that i can honestly tell them 2 stop!!! But thanks again 4 posting that an letting people no that. Now people will probley stop false claming...

  • I love the elegance and the class! Go Ladies!

  • I love how the AKA step shows always show classy behavior.

No disrespect to the other sororities... but when they step it appears as if they try to step like their (male) counterparts.

  • Very nice, sistergreeks!

  • Great job Sorors!!!

  • Very Good sorors!

  • It is extremely disrespectful to do any calls, hand signs, or steps that you see historically Black fraternities or sororities do. If you didn't know, it's okay... just know better next time.

  • That's true, but I wonder why so many of their hand signs mean other things. For example, AKA is also sign language for the letter "I," Kappa is sign language for the letter "F," and Alpha is sign language for the letter "Y" and can also mean "What's up?" And the one for Sigma also means "Rock on" And need I mention Kappa Kappa Psi? Theirs is sign language for "I love you." I don't really understand...

  • I can see why you would think that, but that is you looking from the outside in, honestly you won't ever understand unless you join an organization what the sign means. Its just good policy to be respectful and don't mock or try to interpret something you don't really understand.

  • Yeah, I suppose you're right...I'll just leave it alone, because I don't even know if I want to join one just yet (gotta get my grades up, you know?) lol

  • Get it Sorors!!! skeee-wee!

  • Cute Soror's!

  • O....M....G.....

  • Cute
