Stop to confuse Olympic style fighting with the art of traditional TKD. This is simply abouts scoring points here, not about disabling your opponent.

It usely comes down to timing and the speed the technique is executed who scores the point, not about 'who is more brutal' or 'who would win a street fight'.

TAEKWONDO is the worst fighting style outside of tae bo. ATTACK CROTCH FIRST, how stupid do you have to be to do something like this? those spin kicks are cool looking, but what happens when you do that on concrete? or broken glass? i wish i could wear pads when people beat on me. TAEKWANDO makes me ashamed to call myself an american. that video contains nothing other than moronic exercise. Fighting? no this is barely a game

@KNIGHTCleric Its true most fighting styles are good if your good at it, but seriously most people who practice TKD seriously would get dropped by a boxer, sambo or Muai thai fighter because no one who does TKD blocks, look at these fucking kids, yes there kicks are crazy cool and and pretty talented but they dont block cause they wear those stupid as body protectors, muai thai, kick/boxing and sambo/systema all utalize guarding into their fighting techniques which is why TKD is somewhat useless

ya know,B Fighter easily won coz Boxers dont block their legs

in fact,they dont even KNOW HOW to block them

so Bushido Fighter won the battle within 20 seconds.He made 4 low kicks.Boxer couldnt do anything

so u cant claim boxer will pwn TKD fighter

a good TKD fighter will spin from a great distance and then he`ll unleash a devastating low kick which will result in a ONE HIT WIN

@KNIGHTCleric you can't really say that anymore. TKD fighters nowadays learn a really dumbed down version of TKD for exhibition. Someone sees a guy jump up in the air and spin around for a kick, they will either block or counter. assuming they know anything about fighting, and regardless if they are a boxer or not.

Wow, I did Taekwondo when I was younger, and I never really liked going to tournaments cuz the only thing my opponents ever did was roundhouse after roundhouse after roundhouse, that was it! But now it looks like that's pretty much all the higher levels do too.

Taekwondo is a sport, not streetfighting. it's more an artform. Its classy and respect full. But if you will, combine taekwondo kicking techniques with punching and hand techniques will make you dangerous. But mostly it all depends on the fighter, not the style.

I think they should allow punches to the head and takedowns in competition, that way it would utilize more of what Taekwondo is about. It always annoys me that they only use about 25% of what you learn in matches, and they never keep their hands up, one of the most basic things they teach in any dojan.
