The is not about someone committing suicide; it's a symbolic expression of being there for someone, giving them hope, of not giving up, of holding on for a future that is worth fighting for. This song sends an awesome message.
But I don't think the song is necessarily about someone committing suicide...just someone who needs help. I don't know....maybe that's just how I interpret it :)
