I'm so happy you put this all together i don't know anyone that couldn't relate either from the weakness point of view and how weaknesses can consume a person or by the raw knowledge of knowing when your skimming the bottom of the barrel. there is only 1 way to go... up. I ran out of space below. I just wanted to comment on the 5 part interview. It sadden me to hear what a tough life Marianne has lived, but I was comforted in the fact that she is fine with it. It has certainly been a very interesting life full of accomplishments. I wish her all the success and happiness in the future. Thank you for posting this interview

Until I stumbled on to Marianne Faithfull on youtube the only thing I'd ever hear about her was the song "As Tears go by". What a fascinating person!!! The videos of her singing when she was very young blew me away. She just stood there hardly moving, but who cared because you were so fixated on her face and voice. So sweet, so confident, so pretty. For the last couple of hours i have located all of her songs I could on Youtube and saved them to my favorite file.

How poignant it is when she sings 'As tears go by' at t the end. At the beginning it is sweet and pure and at the end there seems to be a more reflective worldy persona.

Straight up & real..just like marianne.I enjoyed these videos very much! Remember that Marrianne said in her book that Keith gave her the best night of sex in her life. In fact, she has only great things to say about Keith. (unlike Mick) I don't think Marrianne would have taken Keith's comments as an insult BTW. I think she'd be flattered.

I'm reminded of Lilly Langtry's story. Her life bottomed out at age 27. Not drugs but caught in a loveless marriage, Prince Edward VIIending a two year relationship with and having a baby by his nephew. But, she took to the stage and created a whole new life for herself.

I was lucky enuf to have been there at St. Anne's Church in Brooklyn when they filmed Blazing Away. The first night (I attended both nights) I waited outside for an eternity until she came outside, and got to meet her. It was the thrill of my life!

I'm from the 60's generation and this 5 part interview brought back a lot of memories of that time for me. I was not part of the drug scene like Marianne and I can't imagine what it must have been like to be so successful one moment and on the streets the next. She is lucky that she surrived it all. Thanks for this video.
