You can play gliss on any electric guitar.I put loads of delay or echo on and a bit of reverb and then you need a piece of very smooth metal eg stainless steel knife.First damp all the strings you don't want to sound with your left hand and then use the knife or whatever like a voilin bow on the strings... mess around a bit and you will suss it out soon enough.
Yeah, I guess you could. I have a crazy ass processor for my guitar and I can basically make a setting that sounds exactly like a glissando, but I think it would be cool one like Daevid has.
D0od, glissando is the opposite of portamento alright! Loogitup and do a little research. BTW, Daevid told me his sliding tool of choice is a surgical steel instrument called a Sounding Rod or Sound. It's primary use is for jamming in a man's urethra. They've got 'em sized up to the diameter of a Toosie Roll! Eye schitchoo knot. Daevid uses a compressor on his signal before it hits his amp. Not much else as far processing goes. Only the tiniest measurable amount of LSD hits the brainLOL
I don't think its going to be their final show. Theres not another uncon in Amsterdam planned at the moment, but I was talking to the guy who runs Gong's website the other day, and he was telling me that theres likely going to be another.

daevid allen uses a steinberger, it's not a guitar designed for glissando, it's just an electric guitar...
much guitarists who use steinberger for a while acctually never want to go back, they think it's a wonderfull guitar...
check out the site, i hav a steinberger, and i think it was not very expencive...

yeah, well, some guitars will sound better for glissando or some are more comfortable to play glissando with, but every guitar can do it...
