BRYAN YOU FORGOT TO FACTOR IN THE COST OF ENERGY NEEDED TO COOK, AND THE COST OF TRAVEL TO STORE, AND THE VALUE OF YOUR TIME, YOUR FIGURES ARE WAY OFF.
I don't get why so many are bitching. lets fess up. Americans are Lazy. No i'm not a foreigner. i grew up in a family that always made their own food no matter what the budget was. Americans always make excuses to be lazy that's why we get everything made in foreign countries because we refuse to pay for our own labor worth, we want everything fast and cheap. It will take years to get past this mentality.people who know how to cook can make a decent meal in 30 minutes. who doesn't have that?
Hello, I'm in college and by budget is a bit tighter than others. When I go to McDonals I always get one McDobble and a large soda, with tax it comes out, with tax, to $2.18 can you tell me how to get a better burger for that price with a healthier drink?
@ShadowMesiona If the budget is that tight, get 2 McDoubles without the buns and a glass of water. Or 2 McDoubles is 1/4 pound of meat, so you could actually make yourself a grass-fed burger for less.
Really? I would like you to explain to any econ. major or small business owner how time is NOT money. If you're going to make a fair comparison on price, it doesn't make sense to exclude opportunity cost - when for many people the convenience and lack of time commitment is what drives them to fast food. It's right there in the name.
I agree that the time is worth it to be healthier and have a higher quality of life, but let's be realistic about the total cost involved.
I don't understand how if you use more expensive ingredients it turns out cheaper? Usually with organic its more expensive so your food should cost more. Why is this not the case? I just love your videos very interesting..
@videodude4 The food cost is more expensive, but FF companies jack the price 200% up to make profit of their food. So, initial cost of a BigMac for example is about 79 cents. Just trust him. It is cheaper in the end :)
They have other cost we pay for other things like heathing, cooling etc. Well done! Even if it was more expensive you would haver to pay for the doctor and cures of the problems bad food cause.
@imrepeto But the costs of heating, cooling, overhead, employees, etc also allpies to the stores that we buy the raw ingredients from. And you are right, it really is a pay now or pay later proposition. Thanks.
@NerdyMoe That's a good question. The meat that most restaurants use is the same meat that most grocery stores sell. Your best choice is grass-fed beef or pastured poultry. If those aren't available then organic would be the next best choice. If you're in the States, try Baucom's Best in NC. They ship nationwide. I have been to their farm many times. They run a very clean operation with high quality meat.
WOW oh WOW! What a Great Video. That blows my mind. Look at what you get dining out and it's so bad for you, yet eating healthy is not. You've just proved it!
We have changed our nutrition plan to all natural and organic products and do not go out to fast food any longer and actually our grocery bill is less per month. Save money, EAT AT HOME!
Hello, Bryan! I'm a girl who has been watching your awesome vids every time you provide! Tx a lot, Bryan! actually I got tempted to look around a Mcdonald near my workplace about 5hours ago even though I've been started to stop eating those! but at the moment, the facts made me shock in your vids reminded me that I don't need to have a Bic mac meal as my lunch! woohoo! It's kinda something refreshing on the streotypical ways of me to decide to take a meal in my challenges..! Awesome! Xoxo
@alan48085 The fast food is flavorless compared to patured chicken, grassfed beef and organic. People think that coke is whata cola tastes like, when in fact it tastes nothing like a real cola made with cola nut. We are so used to the taste of processed food, that it actually tastes good. It's not. Once you have eaten organic for a few months go and eat fast food or processed food. It then will taste disgusting and bland (not to mention sending you to the toilet repeatedly the next day).
Phenomenal!!! But if the volume was higher I wouldn't have to put my iPhone to my ear and try to view at the same time. It's kinda difficult. Good job! :)
where do you buy your meat? because i was informed at a raw food workshop that in the regular grocery stores, Monsanto provides the organic merchandise and that Monsanto owns Whole Foods. i was wondering if you got your meat from a specialty store that supplies organic food or if you paid the premium prices at popular food chains.
@iroc31407 I highly doubt that Monsanto has anything to do with organics and/or Whole Foods since both are the exact opposite philosophy and business model of Monsanto. I buy my meat from BaucomsBest . com. They ship nationwide (I recommend using overnight or 2 day). I have been to their farm many times, search Baucoms Best on youtube for my other videos. Upon checkout enter "BRYAN MARCEL" as the coupon code and save 10%.
@BryanMarcelLifestyle thanks a lot. i dont' eat meat but i'm trying to give my mom and sister plus other family members better options so i love your recreation videos because i've got them off restaurant food so now i'm working on helping them to recreate at home. i was shocked when we were told that at the workshop and i'm still researching it myself.
I think you missed the mark in this video. People are talking about dollar menus in regards to eating fast food because it is cheap... not $3-$5 Angus burgers and stuff like that. Plus, you can just go through the drive-thru to get fast food... if you're talking money, it would take $10 of my time to cook bacon & hamburger for a sandwich and clean-up. Face it Bryan, eating healthy IS more expensive and time consuming... but it's WORTH it!
@macktight You are right. I tried to make a McDonalds McDouble using Walmart brand meat, bun and cheese. I couldn't do it. It still would cost $1.07 vs. $.99 at McDonald's. That is a real indication of how low quality fast food really is since both McDonalds and Walmart are high volume entities. You are correct that your time has value. I wanted to point out the cost vs. quality differences.
People saying they don't have the time to make their own food is the stupidest excuse I ever seen

This is soo out of touch.
The people who are trying to save money, are not buying the expensive sandwiches. Trying to eat healthily let alone organically is NOT affordable.

You fail to understand that when you pay for fast food, you also pay for the service of it being made for you quickly.
Time is money, and many people don't have time to cook their own food.

Fantastic video Bryan!
I guess another reason people eat fast food is because it is 'fast'. with hectic lifestyles these days people don't want to cook at home.
But using your recipe I'm sure you can freeze a few patties and throw them on the grill whenever you need them.
Keep the great videos coming.
