It's hard to say what is being seen here -- since clearly the military does launch flares, and may even be doing so in order to smokescreen legitimate sightings of unknown phenomena, and unfortunately videos can't resolve adequately. I think people in Phoenix need to invest in some telescopes with videos attached to them or something, to get a closer look at these lights.

@TheFighterpilot93 I think the behavior of lights winking on and off one at a time tends toward flare behavior, although some of the older mass sightings reported something flying overhead (meaning it was in one direction in the sky, passed overhead, and ended up in another direction in the sky). This particular video could in fact be flares -- you can see a plane beacon flying near the lights early on. But I can't tell if these lights are straight up or in the direction of the base or what.

@TheFighterpilot93 Although I understand what you mean about flares, believe me I was originally thoroughly convinced that the Phoenix Lights were all flares at one point, but now I'm sure that they weren't. Only some of them were flares (ironically the ones in the most famous videos, which took place later on the same evening) -- this actually makes the whole thing even more fishy. There are lots of witnesses reporting lights flying overhead, not just in Phoenix but before and after.

I was a witness to these lights that this family filmed. I seen them from Yuma Arizona in the direction of Phoenix with my girlfriend at the time. I watch the Army, and Marine Corp practice around Yuma, I know what a squadron of Chinook Helicopters, Fighters, Flares and Air Ships look like in the air. These lights are not flares or know aircraft, and not as red as the film shows. Yuma and Phoenix are over 150 miles apart and you think they're flares? Not a chance!

The first 48 hours Luke AFB denied causing the lights. They publicly confirmed they could see the lights, but nothing was showing in their radar. Look at 30 seconds into the video, the light going from left to right on the bottom of the screen is a comercial plane. These things were way up there on a fixed position. Not moving. And when they did, it was in a deliberated arbitrary fashion. Not very "flare" like, is it?

On the news these people in some apartment complex all said they say balloons with flares on them going up in he sky in their backyard. i saw it on abc15 news. i live in phoenix

That might be the case, but I doubt flares could reach that height and remain close to still untill they all rearranged almost at the same time to a different position. I'd buy it if it was a lower altitude where they could be directed somehow..Plus, I called all news stations to see who got reports, abc15 categorically refused to get my report without even seeing it. And they are debunking it 48 hours later? They are obliously biased...
