  • Nice speedrun

  • Press 2 to fall.

  • you got a lotta lives there buddy

i remember playing this game it was so good

  • lmao sounds cool too

  • man I just love 8 bit music...but of course the music in the dkc for snes is still much better.

  • this music is better than the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 2...

  • Comment removed

  • @CaioNV lol thats what i said

  • god i wish i want such a dumbass and sold this game when i was kid

  • at 1:02 diddy was problably wondering "How the fuck do I get out, now?"

  • OMG ! My only DK. The only stage and music I remeber ! Bring me some tears !

  • What console Is This From :S I thought theres Only two Versions, SNES and GBA

  • This is for Game Boy, but Donkey Kong Land 2 is a different game from Donkey Kong Country 2.

  • @Blaziken257 Where could I buy the DKL series ? And would you recommend getting the DKC GBA games ?

  • @FzeroBrawler27 When i first saw it i thought its was from the nes it looks 8 bit like the nes

  • @theangrywiinerd but NES has colors!!11!oneeleven =P

  • @FzeroBrawler27 theres 4 of them (GB, GBC, SNES, and GBA)

  • He can do everything.

  • I remember this game. It was the first time I ever played a version of DKC2. Borrowed from a friend of mine long ago.

  • Dude, skills.

  • Man, this game is utter nostalgia for being the first game I ever played. (Heck, I'm playing it right now.) I remember Slime Climb being difficult for me.

  • I gotta say,for the original Gameboy, those graphics are really freaking good.

  • Indeed. Very very good for a 8-Bit System.

  • Agreed

  • I must agree. Donkey Kong Country 2 (As well as 1 & 3) was one of those games that made good use of the SNES graphics engine. Replicating it on an 8-bit GB (original no less) must have been difficult.

  • wow your good i love the game in the level

  • Awesome speed run.

  • No I didn't, I just practiced this stage a whole lot until I got it right.

  • The song on this level is amazing. Brings back great memories.

  • RARE's gameboy sprite animation was damn amazing. It's been so long since I've seen it, I guess I forgot.

  • umm can anyone tell me if this game is even good cause compared to the original it looks like it sucking 10 asses at the same time!

  • You don't need to say that... -_-

  • And yes it is good

  • completely agree dude

  • Its not quoite the same as the original as it has different level layouts.

  • Even when pixel-fied, Stickerbrush Symphony is still beautiful...

  • wow the music is still amazing 8 bit?

  • I passed this level on the Gameboy Advance version.

  • DKC2 on the GBA is the same as the SNES version. DKL2 is different.

  • this is pretty sick. I've heard of Donkey Kong Land before, but I didn't know they ported a SNES game to the GB.

  • the bramble blast remix was good for a gameboy color game

  • Compared to the new Donkey Kong games, the styles haven't changed that much, just the music and the color, way to go RAREWARE!!!!!

  • even on gameboy the song is awsome

  • I should have bought this, now its too late boohoo

  • What do you mean "it's too late"?

They still sell this at gamestop. I saw it.

  • you can buy it on ebay.

  • dude the graphics are awsome on gameboy for this game and the music to!

  • Wow, that was awesome. Also, I never knew a DKL 2 existed! I've got 1 for the original gameboy.

  • ive got the chunky gameboy as well

  • You are a shortcut machine.

  • I know! This level is really fun like this!

  • I didn't understand at 1:08, why did you get hit?

  • I did it to skip a TON of blast barrels. In order to get to the part around 1:17 without getting hit, you had to go through a lot of them, which takes up a lot of time...

Maybe I'll spend like four hours mapping out this level to show everybody what the entire level looks like...

  • Or are you asking how I went past that barrel right before I got hit?

  • Yeah, how did you got past the barrel before you got hit. Guess the barrel wasn't in the game memory when you passed it until it showed up.

  • Well, those three barrels don't blast you until you hit A. I kept hitting A very fast, so I went faster than the screen could handle. Because of that, I went so fast that the third blast barrel showed up too late and I was already past it. The Game Boy is a slow system...

I wonder if Rare ever remade this for Game Boy Color like they did with DKL3, it probably wouldn't have this glitch... after all, the GBC version of DKL3 has less lag than the GB version.

  • he did, but as you see, You only see the kong you play as, not the second-hand:)

  • does anyone know where to find the rom for this game ive looked EVERY WHERE i only find dkl1 and 3 but not 2

  • every level in this game has it,s own limmited colors, but it,s realy hard to distinguange the enemy,s from object,s and levels.

alltrough playing this game on the gbc, makes the enemy,s distingeble from objects and levels, since they have other colors than the levels, but instead all levels will have the same color.

i just use my magination, for how it should be, if this game was made in full color on gbc. would be impressive.

  • That amazing song is really estrange in this game... Makes my ears to pain! But cool speedrun.

  • hey, this is neat.

  • All right people, the next time someone comments on the green, I'll just tell them to download a patch that turns the green to brown (and the yellow to purple). Basically it looks like Screech's Sprint in DKC2 (SNES).

  • Luigi would orgasm from watching this video. GREEN! XD

  • whats witht eh hearts at the bottom (i havent played the gb version)

  • Those are your lives.

  • i see

  • I've played a level, which looked like this in SNES version.

  • Well,at least they did not kill the music like they did in the GBA one.

    Nice run.

  • Nice graphics for that gameboy :O

  • Just one thing to say: Green. Lots and lots of green.

Nice job on the shortcuts, dude. :)

  • Well, that's the Super Game Boy for you. It's weaker than other 8-bit color systems, like NES or Game Boy Color. The green is unique though <_<

And the shortcuts made this level more fun to speed run than most other levels in this game. Thanks :)

  • Welcome. :)

  • great work ,but i have discovered that it is impossible to change the color pallet in dkl2 and 3 on sgb cuzz rare have block that feature, stupid rare.

unlike dkl 1 wich you can change the color pallet.

alltrough on gbc you can do with all the dkl sequels etc,,

  • Excellent, dude. It looked very skilled, and went very fast.

  • Thanks.

  • Nice run! Some very good use of sacrificing Kongs for shortcuts, good job!

  • This Level is confusing...:S Nice job!

  • It's not that confusing for me when I've had this game for over seven and a half years... but thanks!

  • Green.

  • Wow thats crazy!

  • Wheres Bramble Scramble at?

  • It's still in Krazy Kremland. But this time, it's right AFTER Rickety Race.

  • I wonder why Bramble Blast is in Krazy Kremland? It's supposed to be in Krem Cauldron? Mabye they wanted to shorten Krem Cauldron by 1 level because Krem Cauldron is like Croccodile Cauldron and Krem Quay combined! This makes Krem Cauldron the longest world in Donkey Kong Country history! BTW, you did a awesome job!

  • Yeah, that's my guess to why they moved it to Krazy Kremland.

And as for why they combined Crocodile Cauldron and Krem Quay, my guess is that Rare was too lazy to include Kudgel.
