  • isnt burning kerosene as road fuel ilegal,if you get caught the fine could be 100s of dollars,,,better mixing with regular diesel or adding some acitone, you only need a little,i dont understand why we are using kerosene here, thats crazy and not eco friendly at all....i am also told that kerosene can damage valves in a car over time, its up to you,but this is not bio fuel being made here.

  • @battlestarone The point of the film was to show how a small WVO filtering system could be made and used. I was not suggesting that kerosene be used as road fuel, I clearly state that the oil is used in a domestic boiler situation. Heating oil is a very close cousin to kerosene, so mixing with filtered WVO 2:1 is saving 2 gallons of heating oil for every 3 used, which is eco friendly. A WVO filter system would still need to be used making biodiesel. - Martin.

  • Why not use unused cooking oil from super market which much much cleaner.

  • @fgah price, used is free

  • 1:- Cooking oil is food after all, and I cannot bring myself to burn food.

2:- WVO is a waste product (Waste Vegetable Oil), so it as been used once and now is used again as fuel, with no net CO2 addition - Every gallon used is a gallon of diesel saved.

3:- The price of new cooking oil makes it uneconomical to use as a replacement for diesel.

  • that looks like new oil

  • @argosy2006 - The oil came from a friends kitchen, so was only used in a domestic situation, so yes it was cleaner than other WVO I have used (Still looking for a constant source). - The process is still essentially the same though. - Martin.
