  • is this about the same size as a kelty raven?

  • @TRUTHandANSWERS I haven't seen one of those.

  • What color is this one?

  • @imanak2004 Khaki.

  • I just purchased a Maxpedition Vulture II!!! I have used the A.L.I.C.E pack in the past. It was trash. I prefer the I.L.B.E. It was ten times better than its predecessor.

  • This is freaking me out. On you the bag looks quite desent size, but on their website it lookes horrendously HUGE... What is it? I can't test it and have to order online, really need to know ;D

  • @MrMooseful It's not huge but it's big enough for a3 day trip. It's almost the same size as a medium ALICE pack.

  • how well would this pack go with a SABERCAT VERSIPACK

  • @chudyrules Excellent. They are made to be modular with each other.

  • Wait a minute...

    Observatory...?

    and manzanita in the background...?

    Were you up by Columbia?

    (just curious)

  • Nope...but close.

  • It's a nice small capacity pack, but why do you have the waist belt up so high? The whole thing looks like it's too small for your torso length, or it just isn't adjusted correctly.

  • I like to keep all my gear as high as possible to keep the pressure off my lower back.

  • Are those Molle attachments on the bottom

  • No not really. They are for a sleeping bag...ghillie suit in my case.

  • Can you tell me the type of camo you have there and price, also what type of water filter you use.

I have the vulture in OD green and its doing great so far.

  • The cammies I have are Marine Corps digital. They are about $70 for a full set including the hat (cover). I use a MSR water filter...it uses ceramic filter cartridges.

  • Thanks for the review. I have been eyeballing several competitors to this and not really considered Maxpedition until now. They are typically pricey (IMO) but in this case they are a pretty good deal compared to the "other" brands as you mentioned. That said, Maxpedition may be pricey on other stuff, but their quality will never disappoint!

  • I think I am going to make the purchase. Thanks for the vid!

  • Eagle and Maxpedition are some of my favorite brands.

I own an Eagle A-III with MOLLE webbing on the outermost and smallest compartment.

It's withstood an enormous amount of abuse, and traveled to and from Kenya and the field, as well as everyday use for school and hiking.

  • wont that water blader give u a hump on your back when its full of water

  • Not really. It will conform to your body and the compartment is well padded.

  • Thank you for this AS! The "Vulture" looks pretty comfortable. I like to wear my gear high on my back, so I like the strapping.

Any recommendations for cleaning camo wear in the bush or is it even necessary?

  • I either shake it or I hand wash it.
