  • Interesting band, they have the same high quality as the Dutch band Bløf. Good to know there is still music and poetry in the worried world

  • This is a really good band, even though they have the lamest band name ever.

  • I love these guys. Thanks for putting this up, user!

  • This album was the best present I got for christmas this year ;)

  • One of my favourite songs <3

  • seeing them on tuesday.fukn yaaaas!

  • Scotland should be proud!

  • Me likey...

  • They're touring with Mogwai. I wish I was in the UK right now. :P

  • I am always quite reluctant to give a relatively new band "my favourite band" tag" but I can safely say these guys are my favourite band.

  • Seeing them tonight, carn't fucking wait.

  • i'm more than a fighter, i know

  • music+emotion=/=emo music. this is a good song

  • @WarGoatForestWolf666 alicia keys must make emo music too.because her songs are emotional

  • Fantastic, feel ashamed to have never heared of them appart from a few days ago. They have a new fan here anyway. Awesome stuff. cheers for posting mate.

  • My response is in 4 parts due to the character count limit. No I don't. I suppose in the most superficial sense you could say the bass is reminiscent of what David J did on songs like Hollow Hills, or Bela Lugosi's Dead, but only in the vaguest sense. David J was way more funk and dub driven than what I hear here, also his bass hooks were way stronger. The guitar to me sounds nothing like Daniel Ash.

  • Yes Daniel Ash did occasionally do noise drones typical to what is happening here but he was way more melodic and the overall tone was much clearer and direct. This guitar player seems to be hiding behind his effects pedals instead of steeping out and actually playing something with some conviction and balls.

  • Now I could see where someone would compare this to Pornography era Cure but once again only in the vaguest sense. Robert Smith had massive hooks, melodies that would stick on your brain like napalm.

  • @gillianinchains If anything, this is closer to Slowdive or, at least the latter third of the song, My Bloody Valentine. The divebombing tremelo bar stuff?

That said, it could be the quality, but I can actually hear something melodic and interesting in the guitar part, and the hook is in how everything is layered, not depending on a vocal line or guitar run.

  • they got the "Sad" part right

  • I also hear My Bloody Valentine, Cass McCombs, and Fleeting Joys. I'm really liking their sound!!

  • Bauhaus, Cure, and Joy Division all come to mind.

  • So you don't think the Bass line and guitar sound anything like what Bauhaus or Cure have done on albums? Your response so far doesn't explain much, except that you have your opinion.

  • I'm hooked. Come back to the states!

  • Reminds me of The Cure's Pornography album

  • cant fuckin wait to see them back in edinburgh again

  • like being 15 in the 80s

  • Wah! Got the CDs. Paid good money too. To be honest- this is one of the only bands I think who actually deserve my money. :D

  • nearly same as Joy Division

  • it has a very melodic way to it..

im in love with the guitaring this band does

its liike working up to the klymax (spelling?) in a book, or a movie..

and the broag this guy sings with..

    simply amazing..

  • im impressed......this is the first time i hear this band.....quite good

  • for me alongside with Engenieers second album the best record of 09.... astonishing bass, atmospheric guitars, geniusly played drums, and that vocal is just something!

  • @vitoczek

Couldn't agree more. Everyone was so high on Wild Nothing in 09/10, but really In Praise of More (Engineers) and Forget the Night Ahead (The Twilight Sad) blew everything else right out of the water.

  • that´s what i call MUSIC!

  • when did they start? there really kinda cool! =]

  • Their first album was out in 07, still one of my favorite of all time

  • heard it on Indie 103.1... amazing song

  • heard this on the NME must hear lists and they are right

    amazing

  • Awesome.

  • quality track, should be big.

  • oh aye, here we go :)

  • eeeeeeeeeeeee!
