It get's really lame some times and I can't really take him seriously in some action scenes. But Timothy Dalton is much closer to the Ian Flemings James Bond from the books. Dark and cruel with little sense of humour. And besides, the Timothy Dalton Bond movies are very brutal, much blood and a very intense story. Way better then any Pierce Brosnan Bond movie

The filmmakers may have followed the plot of the novel,but they took Fleming's cold, not yet so smooth Bond to the extreme. Craig's Bond is one-dimensional - dour and clenched all the time. There's no room to evolve. And all these claims about realism. The highly improbable opening chase jumping from cranes, etc. is proof that there's nothing real about Craig's movies either.
