I think it's smart the way Red Desire has already been in America for sometime, and already has a G1 race under her belt. She wasn't asked for much at all from Kent Desormeaux in the race, and came home with a very easy 3rd place finish. I just wish Buena Vista was being sent to the B.C. F&M Turf as well. Red Desire has ran stride for stride with Buena Vista all three times they've raced. Red Desire beat her in the 09' Shuka Sho. I think she has a very legit shot at winning the B.C. F&M Turf.
Both Buena Vista and Red Desire, IMO, will be the two fillies that will be expected to carry on the great success of the great Japanese race mare Vodka. But both this race, and the Japanese Oaks, plus what the two have gone on to accomplish since, has proven to me that Red Desire is a very good filly. But Buena Vista has already gone on to have proven herself to be a great filly. IMO. If she had started her run in the Sheema just a couple of seconds sooner, she may have had a shot at Dar Re Mi.
