  • SOOOOOOOOO ENGLISH!

  • Bonus; sneeze and it closes automatically.

  • I have one for sale its now june 2011 should be gone by july £600 tel 07956 651953

  • very cool

  • i like, y want one for me

  • That's very cool!I'd like to get one, are they ok to sleep in? ie watertight/free from draughts etc?

  • @mrspivvy yep, it's perfect to sleep in; dry and free from daughts. When it's cold outside there can be some condensation on the inside (typically where the aluminum corner parts are.

  • I WANT ONE

  • Leck mich am Arsch ist das geil ;)

  • er... sturdy???

  • I've had my Export for over a year now & love it. People are saying they look flimsy I can tell you the one I had withstood gale force winds on the east coast some 3 years back & was unscathed. It's 30 years old now & between 2 of us we can put it up in around 10 minutes. It's better than towing a regular caravan as it don't sap the fuel either & with the prices of fuel these days that isn't a bad thing.

  • still plenty on ebay - we bought ours for £400 and it's ace. We don't seem to use any more fuel when pulling it, either.

  • LoLBox

  • i just bought one off ebay!!! cant wait to use it! yay!!!

  • do they still make these...love to buy one

  • no, they stopped producing them late 80's...

  • @bigdaninorlando

ye you can buy it racelt in france produc them

  • What are advantages if you compare with a regular tent?

  • Isn't that obvious? When it's set up it's caravan (be it somewhat spartan). No more sleeping on the ground...

  • ggg

  • I just got from Ebay pick it up in the morning

  • must be mad i just got one

  • Why mad? I'm sure you'll like it...

  • i hope i do will try and get it put up soon as it stops raining here in Cardiff (UK)

  • Wow, don't sneeze inside or you will blow your house down. Looks too flimsy to stand any kind of wind so beans are off the menu.

  • I used to build flimsy stuff like this out of plywood, and I bet they are asking thousands for this piece of junk...

  • I would like to ask... is the insulation good? does it have heating? is it ok for both summer and winter? or it gets very hot in the sun? I will go and see one that I found here for sale tomorrow and seriously thinking to buy it :-) Thanks in advance.

  • The answers: insulation is reasonable. there exist models with convector heating. I only use it in summer. it does get warm in the sun. Good luck with your search.

  • how much was it when new?

  • I really don't know... I've bought it second hand 10 years ago for less than 1000 euros.

  • Transformers LMAO

  • Nice, but it is not an Apache !

  • I want one now! Do they still make them? Very nice

  • No, they stopped production in 1986 if I'm correct. So you'll have to search for a second-hand one...

  • genial

  • ok thanks

  • hurry folded back up tornado is around the corner.

what happen when you camping an a storm is comming .does it leaks when it rains

  • So far we've been in windforce 12 without any problems... and of course it doesn't leak when it rains!

  • How much does iy weigh?

  • Empty, it is 395 kg. You can load it up to 700 kg (and we usually do ;-)

  • Very impressive!

We had the large Exportmatic version of this for a very short time. But I suffered real bad back trouble and could not stretch upwards and my wife being only 5 feet tall could not easily reach to put the roof up so we sold it and got an Eriba 320GT instead.

  • Excellent ! You are very fast ! Well ! this will work only on your parking becauce when the ground is not flat, you spend 10 minutes to level all the stuff before you can begin to unfold it.

  • Oh, sometimes I spend almost half an hour when the campground is horribly uneven. Occassionally it reguires some digging as well.

  • Brilliant! I have never put up my Rapido within 10 mins.

  • what is the crank you were turning?

  • It's the nosewheel, that you use to align the two roofparts.

  • I don't know how to hook that together- darn it- well, maybe I won't need to use one...

  • this is insane! I love it! Did you build this yourself? What is it made of? Thank you for sharing!

  • No, it's not homebuilt, although I did make some minor changes to fit 5 kids and two adults in emergency situations. It was built in France from around 1969 until 1990 or so. Originally it was made from wood, but the later models are from aluminum.

  • oh... thank you! This is a project that I would like to try to put on the back of my little pick up- it's very a small, classic 1976 Chevy Luv pickup that my Grandfather left for me and I would die if something happened to it, so this project would be perfect for it! I could pull this caravan right on it! I love you!!!!

  • also, please show the inside of it lol- it's so exciting!

  • It is rather large once it is set up! Two adults and two kids and a dog and still lots of room!

  • Good stuff. We had (and still have in my parent's garage, unmoved for 25 years) the Rapido Export model (the one with a separate kitchen/toilet cubical), and I remember as a kid just how huge it seemed once set up. And the time it took to set up also!!! Fond Memories.

  • Jeez Thats fast.

bit small for 2 people and a labrador tho otherwise it would be perfect.

  • You won't believe this:

It has beds for 5 adults (1x 1.40m by 1.95m and 3x 0.60m x 1.95m). Agreed, it's pretty packed by then, but it is possible. When we're doing an overnight stop during our holiday-travel, we've actually slept in it with two adult and 5(!) young children. I also have plans to change the interior in such a way that it can accommodate 7 (yes: seven) adults. This will be only for overnight-stops while on the road and it will be crammed, but it is definitely possible.
