But in the years to come do you really want to be playing on shit that looks like cod or something like metro 2033 or crysis. Technology has to advance and although bf3 wont win in sales. It will take a chip out of mw3. And i GARUNTEE you'll see a blops 2 in 2012 or something in that manner. Buy whatever game you like. But do kno that cod has to bring something new eventually.
An example is amd vs intel. The bulldozer was expected to dethrone Intels chip. It didnt. So why (as a company) would intel seek to create a better chip? Companys need money and if they dont have to spend anything to advance in technology then they wont. If cod keeps selling games and the consumers keep chewing into it. They create a monopoly. And games 10 years from now will still look like the 5 year old graphics they are in mw3.
If there is NO COMPETITION then their will be no advancement. If nothing dethrones cod then you can expect cod remakes for another 5 years. Sure ull say "hurrdurr but nothings wrong with it." But in 10 years youll be seeing 15 dollars a map and sooner or later you wont be able to use perks without paying an extra 5 dollars. Eventually it can become a monopoly where cod can charge any thing for any price they want.
In terms of the whole mw3 vs bf3. MW3 will be fun. But not 100 dollars worth of fun in my book. However BF3 does milk also. With online pass codes and the karkand map pack. But frankly. Im happy to pay the 60$ to get this new game. Im choosing bf3 because cod eventually turned into reskinned remakes. After what..4 games? cod became a trend and is no longer enjoyable after 5 years. I plan to take my m40a acog onto the battlefield like it or not. And yes. My w/l ratio was above 3.0. adios
I dont believe in a "COD" player or "BF" player. Its jsut simply a gamer and from what ive seen. If you suck at cod youll most likely suck at bf and same goes the other way. Im tired of this stereotype for each game. I preordered bf3 because it provided something new for me. And i liked it. Gameplay is fastpace when you make it fast pace. And is slow when you make it slow. Many of my friends feel the same. We come from cod and we rarely see the bottum of the scoreboard.
But the game becomes severly limited without the maps. Then cod elite just sounded like a joke to me. Games like halo. bf. cs. all provide the same service cod elite does. FOR FREE. And frankly paying an extra 40 for the hardened edition just to get "free" dlc and "free" cod elite. Its just a marketing strategy to get kiddies to think its a good deal. In reality they should release ALL GAME content if its made. Not hold it back a month and charge for it later.
After playing cod for the last five years "excluding blops" it just gets old. The only HUGE leap was the killstreak design from mw to mw2. Other then few graphical tweaks it was the same game.
Another issue ive developed from Infinityward or activision is the feeling of milkage. Before, dlc was the developers saying thanks for liking the game. Now its a method to produce an extra penny. At 15 dollars a piece it comes down to be a costly game. Ofcourse no one forces you to buy them.
Picking up both most likely. I fear MW3 will be alot like MW2 with the semi automatic snipers. I mean, that barret didn't look like it had any recoil at all, and i'm sure there won't be a fire limit on it. Apparently the logic of fire limiting in campaign, but not in MP is ok to them... Battlefield looks awesome, I had a great time on the beta. I honestly couldn't believe people were canceling pre-orders because of it...

@Specopleader no it most defianetly isnt. battlefield 2 i could like switch from being in one solder perspective to the other and going from a paratrooper to a sniper in like half a second. you obviously cant do that here. i was just playing both games last week....

I was a big COD fan but its getting so old now every year its the same engine similar multiplayer every year just with added features. the only thing modern warfare has is that it is so easy to pick up and play which is why it draws a bigger crowd. Battlefield is bringing something new to the table. the gunplay is very smooth and of course it has full destruction, vehicles, better graphics/physics, new engine , and on huge maps! The map from the beta was the size of 4-5 Cod maps
Mw3 come lets be realistic here, I had both when there was no killstreaks in cod and when there was no story mode in bf, the days when u can hot swap between bot players. And if mw3 is mw2.5 with all the bullshit taken out then I welcome it with open arms, and since I don't have a gaming pc then I can't enjoy the full range of bf3, I have to take the ported version of bf3 which sucks because of the slow frame rate it feels clunky
I hate this f****** debate, yes COD and Battlefield both are FPS's however the game play is totally diffident in both, drivable vehicles in Battlefield and killstreaks in COD, both complete game changers. Large maps in Battlefield, great for playing in large Co-op based teams, COD smaller maps still great game play for both team and lone wolf style of play. I have pre-ordered both as they differ largely in the game play they offer...
I prefer Cod over bf3, I love twitch game play, that's just how I role, I could care less about how real the game felt since it's A FUCKING GAME, I don't want my damn scope twisting ruining my shot. Also I feel with the good graphics people with bad tv's get screwed. You can no longer tell the difference between a rock and a head (camp happy now) That's what I liked about Halo3, no hiding and skill based, you actually had to have decent aim to kill someone and tactics to get power weapons.H>C>BF

It doesn't you obviously have never seen the difference between a 480p old tv and a 1080p flat screen. The quality as in pixelation of the game might be slightly different due to the tv's resolution but Graphics do not change on console it is the same for all console's.
@unicyclefinatic thats not completely true mate the graphics change depending on what chip the game is playing on for example frostbit 2 allows more detail to be put in also it allows the pixles to move more smoothly which in the long run are important in getting better graphics (the resolution is only a small part of the graphics) i am a cod and battlefield player always have been and i cant wait to see what is new :) happy playing
Battlefield 3 has made more gameplay changes and tweaks from the Alpha trial to the Public Beta than Call of duty has made changes to gameplay from Cod 4 to CodModernWarfare3, which is really sad. For the first year ever I will not be buying modern warfare3. Ill be sticking with battlefield 3, COD really needs to give more effort when it comes to innovation.
After CoD 4, the series went downhill. I bought Bad Company 2 on it's release date and I've been playing the game ever since! I love cooperative games, since competitive games seem to make players mean and..well douchey in both real life and the game itself. Battlefield offers teamwork, and my friends now all play the game. I have no means to buy MW3 but after playing the BF3 beta I'm certainly bringing the squad back :)

Not really only because mw3 and bf3 are two different types of shooter, although I love cod. My only reason is that Cod is more like a fun shooter type of game and bf3 is more of that hardcore type of gaming.. If you look at it cod's franchise is like almost a cartoonistic type of shooter and bf3 is really a military game. These two franchises are great in many ways.

I feel its going to be the same thing with MW3. However with BF and Dice i have never been upset. I have had more fun with the BF3 beta than i ever did with mw2. I will still get both because its what everyone is going to be playing. Im just guessing that months in mw3 will be broken and ill stay on BF3

basically COD is fast pased close quarters gun on gun gameplay. with higher frames per second
battlefield is latger gameplay, team on team battles. slower frames per second.
