@ataraxic89: he DOES mean to donate the proton. The proton is also known as an H+ ion which is what it gives up.

Good video, however "donate that proton" is a minor error. He means Donate that electron. If you change the proton then you change the atom.

Watching these videos, makes it pretty clear, basically rebukes the outlandish thought, of every atom in our body being the result of exploding stars or that we are the result of that very first mud puddle...from nothing. well, Nitrogen is missing another bond as well. three single bonds=6 electrons not 8.

@polos505 Nitrogen has 5 valence electrons. Three single bonds = 7 electrons. One electron is then free to bond to another hydrogen, as is the case at physiological pH, where the amino acid would be represented as a Zwitterion.
