It's interesting that she is still laying! Hens only have one ovary and usually start crowing when that one ovary is compromised in some way. I had a Seabright hen that did that.
I think it has something to do with the bloodline, she had a sister who crowed a few times, but not as often as she does. It was funny, the rooster would try to mate her and when she didn't submit to him she would crow, this in turn made the rooster chase her away. Two years back two hens of this bloodline were fighting and nearly killed each other, I had to break them up and put one in a cage for a few days.
Yea and if its a rooster they'll just keep coming after ya unless you hit it or kill it my grandma has a really nasty scar from one that got her a long time ago.
Roosters do not bite as a general rule. If they bite or attack, then they don't see you as the alpha, but rather as a challenge to their authority. If they are just biting when you pick them up, they are just scared. If you have a rooster who won't stop attacking, then you shouldn't keep it. Even people who raise fighting cocks would never keep one who attacked people.
Maybe you should get them some chew toys. If you do that you might be able to train them to attack. I've never seen a chicken with fangs but I guess it could happen. Someone should design little chicken muzzles so they'll quit attacking old people. Thanks a lot people now I'm scared of chickens.

No, they don't bite, I have had chickens since the age of six and have never been bitten.

lol, I can't think of any time I have been bitten by a chicken unless it was a mother getting angry at you for getting too close to her chicks.
