As a former varsity wrestler for Bowie {Maryland powerhouse) I don't appreciate the comments made by others not from Maryland. The truth is Maryland wrestlers travel all over the country and perform well regardless of the level of competition. Ask PA , New Jersey or Virginia wrestlers they know what's up! MD wrestlers will compete against any state in an All-Star match and perform well! Believe it!

For the most part well oficiated match. Green consistently took the action to and played the edge of the match, deserving of the stalling calls. I don't know about the OT call tho, took some balls on the officials part. Prolly the right call tho. Get stalling out of this sport.

I believe that it would be more accurate to advertise them as the best in Florida, but not quite the best in the US. St. Paris Graham, Ohio and Blair Academy, NJ are better and have been better for some time. I will give you Brandon is a giant shark, in a very small pond.

With that said, Florida wrestling is very, very weak, compared to the traditional power states such as Ohio, California, Pennsylvania, Illinois and others.

Florida really does have better wrestlers than they are givin credit for.

Um grajales is #1 in the nation his hs team is ranked #20 in the nation.

David Craig is also a beast from florida along with the Cozarts.

Hell Psalms Raddaway from kathleen only took 3rd in 1a states and he beat pinned a college wrestler from the north and beast another by points.

He also beat a Utah State champ.

Now think about it if we have 1A Juniors who can dominate State champs and college wrestlers from the north and they only took 3rd.

We must have some badass wrestlers.

obviously you haven't heard of david taylor...he will beat grajales at senior nationals or dream team...and it doesn't matter if "raddaway" beat a college wreslter from the north. there are a bunch of juco and division 3 wrestlers and division 2 wrestlers that he could probably hang with...there may be some, but overall florida kinda blows...but a great place to live.

Green didn't make an offensive move the entire match. All he did was counter red. It's the responsibility of both wrestlers to initiate action, not just one. The stalling call in OT was the 4th call, not the 1st. Green was blocking, his hips were back, he deserved the final stall call.

those guys have worked way to hard to get to that spot! to have a ref decide based on stalling. As the 2 of them cirlce, countless moves are going through thier minds, they are the best 2 in the state, and they didn't get there by stalling. it would be different if one was not doing anything. but both wrestlers socred offensive points. hitting both with stall points in my opionion was ok. "make them work" but you dont end an overtime state final with stall points. isnt that in refereeing 101?
