Steiner was a goof, but he was one awesome mat technician and powerhouse. That guy could do everything. I remember watching of the first matches I saw of his and being awed at the sheer number of suplex & bodyslams he could do. Steiner could pound you into the mat more ways in one match than the entire collective of the WWE today will perform in a night. And on top of that he was easily a match for other technical amateur wrestlers like Lesner, Angle, Hart & Hennig.
