I used to watch Sheriff John every morning as well (im 52) as well as Felix the cat, Mighty mouse, Clutch Cargo, Touche turtle, Wally gator, Lippy the lion. Also, Winchell Mahony time, Billy Barty, Hobo Kelly & Diver Dan.....yup....good times.

@MuzzikLvr , Yeah, There were so many quality cartoons back then. Gigantor, Fractured fairy tales, Speed racer, The Jetson's, Flintstones. I can remember almost every theme song.

I loved Sheriff John. On a slow week, two of my brothers got Good Eggs for being altar boys (very slow week). We use to see Sheriff John at Lake Mary in Mammoth Lakes when we were kids. Then, Sheriff John moved to Boise Idaho, and there were some Sheriff John sitings by another one of my brothers.

This has always been my preferred birthday song. Just read on his Wiki page that he was a radio operator/gunner for the Army Air Corps and flew 50 missions.Sheriff John told a story about a mother crying while bathing her son with leukemia. The boy said, 'Don't cry mama, you should laugh and be happy like the Sheriff John song. He died shortly after. She wrote John Rovick to thank him for all the happiness he brought her boy in his too short life.

At the office where I used to work there was an announcement made over the PA. "Anyone wanting to wish Crystal a happy 40th birthday, please do so". Almost everyone in the office sang this song. This is in Oregon so I was really surprised to see how many of us grew up in SoCal. Nice song John!
