I found my friend a M44 Mosin, for $125 at the local surplus store. However, when his father took a look at it, the safety didn't work, the bayonet was stuck, and it was a Yugoslavian gun not Russian. A gun store in town gets M91/30s every once in a while, so he'll wait for one of those to pop up. They're usually about $150-$175. My buddy's brother just bought a $200 Tula SKS-45. I'd buy a Mosin M91/30, a Marlin 39A, and as much ammo as possible for my .303 Lee-Enfield.
