I've had three recumbent accidents. Once the front wheel floats, it's a wrap. I was also involved in a police pursuit. The cop cut me off and knocked me down. He told the hospital I ran into him.

if recumbents were made as popular as a normal upright the cost would reduce to the same level wouldnt it.  THey should be as common as an ordinary bicycle. the only difference is the riding position. I hate these people who are the type that would laugh at somebody who rides something different. these people are real sad aren't they

I doubt you could catch him. All of the current land speed records for cycling (non-drafting) are recumbent bikes. The reason the UCI won't let them in the big cycle races is that recumbents would always win. It's a fact, look up their rules!

true recumbent are way more efficent, i bet a traditional bike would win in a sprint though over a recumbent, but mind you im not totally sure.

Not unless it was going up hill. With 2/3 less wind resistance a recumbent would be a lot faster. The only time the upright is faster is when you go up hills, and you are going so slow wind resistance makes almost no difference.

Yeah im not sure i like this bike to much because i cant do wheelies on it. He said "Over the bar accidents are a thing of the past" That ass needs to learn how to use his front brake. He should check out Sheldon Brown

I sold many Vangards in our NY store including the tandem plus many other Recumbent models. I loved Dick's Vangards.

It was the best L/B recumbent I have ever ridden.

Oh yes, that's the bike alright. And he made a tandem version of it too. The underseat steering combined with the upright seating position (not to mention a fully-supported tush) and reduced frontal area makes for a terrific combination. Thank you Mr. Ryan!!!
