  • Johnny can really do pretty well in the ring no matter what CM Punk keeps rambling about. Johnny Ace vs CM Punk for WWE Title sounds like a Raw match just waiting to happen. Maybe Ace can really show some strong wrestling skills and put on a decent match.

  • 1... 2... oooOHHHH hahahahahaha

  • 20ish mins just to see johnny ace lose :/

  • Johnny Ace is so stiff and uncharismatic he makes Jack Swagger look like a luchadore

  • johnny ace was great, give him a cobra clutch man!

  • Laurinaitis was fat ass =O

  • 日本テレビの実況はゲストに振らないのが特徴。馬場さんもあまりしゃべってない。

  • John Laurinaitis wasn't a bad wrestler. I'm impressed

  • How the hell did John Laurinaitis get a shot at the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship?!

  • @Tubewings why?? you thing he's bad board director, he's a bad wrestler??

I'm prefer him as a wrestler rather than authority figure..

  • @Tubewings They needed a comepetent gaijin to feed to Misawa.

  • Misawa We would like to wish you the best of luck in all your future endevours

  • do u hear the crowd? wwe needs to go to Japan!

  • Amazing how the crowd was behind Ace.

  • The RKO isn't even a cutter, it's a jumping cutter. Yeah, not a big difference, but if you want to get technical about it, Orton didn't steal the move from Ace. Besides, you don't "steal" moves. You can make it a famous move, you innovate it, but once you innovate it, it's out there for anyone to use. Nothing wrong with that. It's a wrestling move. It's meant to be used.

  • @SimonKSK WWE hired John in part to help new talent develop finishing moves. Before He was involved Orton just had that goofy backbreaker.

  • Sounds like the Great Khali as the other commentator.

  • r.i.p misawa

  • Would love to see Johnny beating HHH up in a Japanese style wrestling.

  • Mitsuharu Misawa's MO: Taking opponents' every single stiff-as-hell moves from every angles just to get wins at the end and doesn't look like a spotlight-stealing jerk.

  • Mitsuharu Misawa's MO: Taking opponents' every single stiff-as-hell moves from every angles just to get wins at the end and doesn't look like a spotlight-stealing jerk.

  • Johnny Ace was Giant Baba's widow's favorite wrestler. Mick Foley wrote in his first book than when he accidentally broke Ace's wrist in a match he knew he was "screwed."

  • LOL its John Laurinaitis. He nw us appearing on WWe tapings.

  • the greatest wrestler in history vs a 2 faced fucker that has ruined more chances to reignite wrestling popularity by fucking over the real talent that the fans actually like and respect, I hope misawa stiff elbows the shit outta this guy.

  • @triplejpm That's probably why he never became world champ.Johnny Ace was also responsible for Misawa and 30 others leaving All Japan to create Noah.It was said that after Giant Baba died,Johnny Ace started sleeping with his widow in order to gain political pull in All Japan. But it back fired when the other wrestlers found out about it.Shortly after,Ace would move to WcW's "Creative" team and continued in that position when WWE bought them out.

  • @81carlos He was responsible for the Exodus too?? Its really hard to find in depth information about the the motivations and politics over in Japan, But if that's actually true, fuck. Who keeps doing this?? lol, never let these fuckers like Vince Russo and Johnny Two face work again! there obviously horrible people with no idea wtf there doing at work. the american product is always so frustrating.

  • @triplejpm The good news is (if you can call it that) is since Triple H has taken more power in the WWE backstage and will most likely be running things when Vince dies, people think Johnny Ace long term is finished because HHH isn't a fan of his.

  • he looks like an old version of Pat Patterson ...flabby ...dont get why he was Miss Babas pet

  • ACE~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!

  • ACE這次打得超乎以往的水準耶......

  • You need to read more PWI...

  • Tell that to the wrestling community that all know what they're talking about. All of the fore mentioned moves are considered VARIATIONS of the original "Ace Crusher" which was invented by JOHNNY ACE. Look up the word "variations". Are you one of those people who considers the "Scorpion deathlock" and the "Sharpshooter" different moves also?

  • Brutal Ace Crusher at 3:45 on Misawa. You'll never see Randy Orton do his RKO on anyone like Johnny Ace did here. I always preferred the Japanese Strong Style over WWE's entertainment first style. It's called wrestling for a reason.

  • @81carlos This match is not Strong Style.

  • @81carlos I think this was AJPW's "King's Road" style/slogan of the 90's not NJPW's Strong style idk, there's no date in the description

  • @786SalamKhan You're right about the slogan thing. But we know both styles are much more rough and stiff then WWE. Only TNA(whom has a working agreement with NJPW) and ROH can compare styles.

  • @81carlos TNA still has an agreement with NJPW?

I wouldn't know because they never use any of the wrestlers from there, instead they toss them aside for the likes of Hogan, Flair and Sting who are in their 50/60s!

  • @81carlos

but the characters are shit... WWE is World Wrestling Entertainment... Entertainment.

  • @81carlos What made it brutal was how Misawa took it. I'm sure Randy's done something like it before, so what you should have said is you'll never see anyone in WWE be so stupid as to take it one the head like that.

  • @iknowme You know what I meant smart ass.Comparing or even mentioning Randy Orton in the same sentence as Misawa is almost blasphemy. When do you see ANYONE in WWE nowadays take falls like Misawa has? Never.Though,I do take my hat off to Austin,Angle & Foley who've had broken necks and countless injuries.Orton,Cena,Hogan and plenty of others have been\are protected by WWE because that's their meal ticket. In Mexico, wrestling's a religion. In Japan,it's a sport.Sadly, here in the U.S. it's a joke.

  • @81carlos tbh i do find that "in mexico its a religion...in usa itsa a joke" line really old now... Especially since most of the people using that cliche line seem to find lucha libre (or 'mexican') to be more circus like than U.S style

  • @81carlos Also these days japanese "strong-style" isnt really what it used to be, largely due to the recent spate of head injuries (topped off by misawas death) theyve really loosened their style.. Also on a side note, cena actually did break his neck in 2008.

  • @liamrules69 Cena didn't break it but he did receive a "stinger" from it.It's an injury football players get from hitting head to head on one another.

  • @81carlos Dont mean to nitpick, but it was actually a herniated disc (which is often considered to fall under the term "broken neck) of which one of the symptoms is a "stinger"

  • @81carlos And if Misawa hadn't taken falls like that he might still be alive.

  • @81carlos Professional wrestling. No one should be getting hurt.

  • That roaring elbow at :52 is just so good, such awesome delivery. Time to wipe the dust off the ol' puro tapes.

  • you are out of your mind.

  • and people wonder why wrestlers die so young, look at all the head bumps Misawa takes. Fucking brutal shit!

  • I disagree they dont take all those crazy head bumps in wwe and that's where the most wrestlers have died, in japan where they all take crazy ass bumps and stiff the shit out of each other most of the guys over there wrestle for fucking ever then retire then they pass on after living long full lives the reason why so many werestler in the states die young is cos of drugs and suicides it's really sad

  • you got a point, cant argue with that.

  • WWE has a much more demanding schedule than NJPW and AJPW. Although Japan's matches are much rougher than american matches, wrestlers here have to wrestle many more house shows. All of those chair shots do add up after a while. I think that's probably why we don't see as many death's in Japan from wresting than here in the 'States.

  • @81carlos

The Penalties for Drugs are also alot more severe in Japan than in the states.

  • @81carlos Except for Misawa, who died in the ring.

  • For all you ace haters out there, this guy woudn't have worked for all japan if he sucked. Besides without him you wwe marks woudn't have the rko. He was one of the best gaijins in the world for a long time and i'm tired of people giving him shit because he's a VP now

  • actually DDP gave Randy the RKO, I hate the shit that Johnny Ace does backstage but for people to deny his in ring abilities is just ridiculous he was a great wrestler and I'm glad that we have things like youtube to show all the haters his talent

  • Johnny Ace is the originator/inventor of the "Ace Crusher", AKA The Diamond Cutter, AKA The Stone Cold Stunner, AKA The Twist of Fate, AKA The RKO. When the hell did DDP and Randy Orton meet anyway? DDP was in TNA for his last matches and Orton was a rookie in OVW at the time. Look it up.

  • well tell that to ddp cos he's the one who says that he gave randy the move he said it on one of his interviews with roundtable wrestling radio

  • How did he "give" Randy the RKO, Randy might have seen him do it first, but Johnny Ace is the inventor of the move.

  • p

  • Johnny Ace has actually reported Misawa's passing on the WWE website

  • Now that's respect.....he knows he owes a lot to Puro in general, that's how he got his notoriety.

  • If Misawa gave Vince McMahon an atomic knee drop; he would have broken Johnny Ace's nose.

Actually it is good that Johnny Ace's nose is there; keeps Jerry Brisco and Pat Patterson and Dusty Rhodes from falling out of Vince's azz.

  • RIP Misawa

  • what are you JR? ......kidding

  • Um, actually James is Road Warrior Animal's son, which would make him Ace's nephew.

  • i got johnny ace for my FIRE PRO WRESTLING game. he's my favorite wrestler to use. i beat the game 5 times with him and went thru all 3oo wrestlers/mix martial artists. kind of cool to see the real johnny ace wrestle. even if he's jobbing. i missed this era of wrestling overseas..

  • Johnny ace suck shit, the reason the match is so good is because of misawa

  • Ironically, most of those stiffs are there because of Ace.

  • what makes you think Ace had anything to do with the de-push of Christian and Benjamin?

  • being in charge of talent relation means he's got to do the diry work for Vince. for instance he may say to a wrestler "I want to hire you and I want to give you this amount of money" but if he go back to Vince and Vince say no, then it'S Ace that looks like crap.

AS far as booking he hasn't been involved with it much in WWE other than around 2002 and 2003 on Smackdown and it was regarded as the show's best years. So why wasn't he a good booker again?

  • Johnny Ace is the man. He had some really good matches in Japan.

He also needs to bring Sid back!

  • never seen anybody in the ring with such a lack of desire, and SOOOOOOOOOOOo out of shape!!!! and he calls the shots scouting for talent. look for football players - yeah, they're soooo atheltic standing around for 4 hours on a field.

  • that the black haired fella can take one hello of a fucking beating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OWNAGE!!!!!!!!!

  • Johnny Ace looks a little like Stan Hansen here !

  • That Tiger Driver looked like that Pedigree HHH gave to Marty Garner in '96.

  • Johnny Ace isn't that good as a booker, but as a wrestler he was great!

  • why isn't he a good booker?

btw, Ace looks like a less brawling JBL there. It says there the match was in 1998. If I remember he came booking for WCW in 2000. I wonder why he did not wrestle for WCW, given that he seemed like still able to go.

  • Tiger Driver '91. Nice match.

  • Good match, but I thought that Ace used way too many Ace Crushers for my taste.

  • That's Japanese wrestling for ya...

  • Johnny Ace put on a great match here.

  • good match.

  • wwe's main event style that they have been using since round 2001 is pretty much a dumbed down version of baba's kings road style.
