  • i live in murphy but i would rather visit then stay

  • Great place to live if you are:

    1) retired and sick of life in the big city

    2) married and rearing young children - good schools, no gangs (crack use among a minority of the kids has been a problem, then again where isn't this an issue?)

    3) caucasian

A nightmare place to live if you are:

    1) a single adult - no places other than churches for a social life

    2) living in the present day and age (this is, as the residents here like to say, the "buckle of the Bible Belt"

    3) a minority

  • I live in Murphy. I've lived here all my life. It's a great place to live.

  • thats bald river falls on tellico river. not in murphy not really close either

  • Yes, for 6 years. My wife owns Country Homes & Land Co. She was the author of rebuttal article "Proud to be 2 hrs from anywhere". She was also the person responsible for getting Murphy in the top ten list of Forbes magazine. So to say the least she has promoted Murphy as much as anyone.

Stop in and I'll show you Orb pictures that will blow your mind, I'll be using some of them in my next show.

  • Your Most Welcome! Go to the Elk picture above yours and check out some of my pictures. I'm in process of doing a new slide show and writing and recording new song for Murphy, maybe we could share a few pictures? I'd love to use some of yours.

  • You also have some great pictures, I really like the music too. Do you live in Murphy full time? I'd love to swap some photos.

  • Thanks! I always tell people if they want to hang out at the mall, it's not for them. If they enjoy the outdoors and want to get away from the day to day grind, Murphy is the place. There's a Lowe's and a Super Walmart so what else do you really need!

  • I love it! Love it! Love it!

I don't care what columnist Jerry Chautin of the Cherokee Scout says, We don't want or need a VW plant here, and pictures like yours do far more promoting Murphy than a bias columnist.

  • great

  • My parents retired there a few years ago & now I spend 4 to 6 weeks a year visiting them with my family. My 3 & 6 year old LOVE it! I have a piece of land for my family & for now we camp & hang out on it. Hopefully we'll be able to build a house in the future.

  • Beautiful wish I could retire there now.

  • I accidently rated this video as a 3 but meant to press 5. The buttons are SOOO sensitive. Love this place NC. It ROCKS!!!!
