  • man sounds angry!

  • That be a fine knot! Yarrrrrrh!

  • Thank you very much! The voice was real clear, no annoying music, good background color and rope color, and made extremely easy to see and understand! I wish everyone else had videos this clear and precise! I have added it to my favorites! Good Job!

  • Thanks I really like this knot.

  • Vid could have been slower/clearer but working it out was a rewarding challenge. Thank you!

I don't have a horse to ride. I am going to tie up my dog. Don't worry animal lovers - I'm not going to ride my dog.

Just tie her up. She doesn't mind. She's a good girl.

  • thanks,

confusing at the beginning cause cannot see which is "standing part" and which is "tag end" but can figure it out at the end...

  • I saw Kirk Douglas do this knot once to tie his horse outside a saloon in a cowboy movie, It's a Highwayman's hitch

  • Been looking for a way to tie my horse in the wash stall. Thanks!

  • THANK YOU!!!! very usefull for towing and rappeling

  • @gummywormz I hope you're kidding about rappeling with this knot !! I've had it fail under extreme load, the free end will get pulled through and let go. The bowline is best for rappiling and towing.....

  • Thanks to your video, I used your node for the detachment of the "lead guard" system that we use most of the downrigger. Greetings Roberto

For the video just type rob2612 on youtube search engine

Grazie al tuo video, ho utilizzato il tuo nodo per lo stacco del "piombo guardiano" sistema da noi usato più del downrigger.

    Saluti

    Roberto

  • really good instructions

  • OMG! AWESOME!! ive never been able to tie a quick release knot, now i can!! thank you so much!!!!

  • YAYYY ive been looking for one to use to tie my horse... now i can :)

  • I use this to tie up my horse.

  • yes it is also called the hiwaymans hitch and also the rogue knot. used in the days of yore, for quick gitaways. but sitll a useful knot even today in this modern world. it has saved me a lot of sweat and i use it whenever the need arises

  • i have used that knot many o times and i found it to be very useful a great knot for lowering down light items (under 50 lbs) but the only draw back is that it will capsize under a heavy load. not to be trusted know. but a good one for everyday practical use. like lowering down buckets of grease from a crane and you want to retrieve your line for lowering other items. then it is great cause you dont need another person to untie it for you good video

  • BADA-BING!

  • if any one can find a video of how to do this in a erotic asphyxiation way can you send me a link?

  • So nice I watched it Thrice

  • Now as i learned the knot i just need to buy a horse lol

  • thanks, this is now the knot i will use to tie my horse up

  • I use this know to tie my horse to the pole. : )

  • STOP before you use this knot mooring a boat. It is not safe. The loop pulls through. Try it and you'll see. It is still a good knot but you have to make sure the tag end loop is long enough to tie a half hitch around the standing end-then it would be safe- otherwise the tag-end loop pulls through the standing end.

  • this is the highwaymans hitch

  • Excellent choice for casting off solo

  • Excellent,

Might be a member of the IGKT.

  • Is it better or the same as Siberian hitch ? Thank you.

  • The Siberian Hitch is different then this knot(a version of the highwayman's hitch,) but they both have there better uses. But probably for tying to a cleat, this one would be better because its easier to tie, and it comes undone easier.

  • Excellent video. I needed to learn how to tie this type of knot for a class I am taking, and this really helped. Thank you!!

  • Thanks now my ambition of being a pirate can be achieved

  • @Avionicgenius LOL! good one!

  • Get me some rope!

  • 1. hard to see which part of the rope he is gesturing/ referring to.

    2. he named the ends of the rope it appears in reverse.

  • It's called the "highwayman's hitch". Likely used for a get-away after robbing the bank. Back in the day, you know. Little house on the prairie day.

  • i've heard it called a fireman's hitch too.

Useful knot...i use it all the time.

  • @1313edward it is called the highwaymans hitch it is also called the rogue knot and it was used in the days of yore. but it is still a useful knot i use it often whenever the occasion arises. it has saved me a lot of sweat a great knot for everyday uses.

  • FANTASTIC:D
