  • 27:20 dude that was hard, took my hours to pass just that part of episode...

  • DAT SOUNDTRACK

  • this is back when designers actually took pride in making their games... oan: Does anyone else notice that these games hella ripped off Galactus/Marvel and Aliens?

  • this game is, in part, a copy of another sega mega drive game: ALIEN SOLDIER. like the "emergency" before the bosses, the aquatic stage, some bosses, and part of game mechanic.

  • @aleuomonero There's also elements borrowed directly from Contra as well as Bionic Commando hehehe LOVE IT! :)

  • @aleuomonero This came out first.

  • This one was kind of like the Super Nintendo version a little bit.

  • so this is Turrican 3 on the Amiga right?

  • @lordioris

kind of - there are a few small differences

  • @lordioris Close, turrican 3 on the Amiga is this, this was in production before turrican 3 on the Amiga :3

  • dozens of planets and only hundreds of people? =x

  • @DStahn12

It was all desert planets ;)

  • @DStahn12 He killed the rest.. because that is what an epic Galactus lookalike does.

  • "Presented by Data East"

    Chris Hülsbeck's voice.

And again, shitty sound emulation. USE KEGA!!!

  • Find someone who adds Re-Recording to KEGA, and we will use it ;)

  • Snaaaake!!!!

  • @porcorosso81 Do you know nothing about lossy compression?

  • @Kousaburo

I know probably more about lossy sound compression than you do. And I don't mean how to use LAME... ;)

Not to mention, you obviously don't own the original cartridge and Mega Drive, like I do. The PSG waveforms for example are completely off. KEGA sound emulation, however, comes very close to the sound of the original. It's the most accurate Genesis / Mega Drive emulator.

  • @porcorosso81 Then explain please the difference between the vocal sample in the original cartridge and the one used here.

  • @Kousaburo

What vocal sample? I just pointed out that the voice is by Chris Hülsbeck and that the sound emulation IN GENERAL is wrong, especially the PSG voices! You know what the PSG is? It's the SN76489 sound chip in addition to the Yamaha YM2612 in the Genesis/Mega Drive, which is being used in this game and which is emulated totally wrong here.

Play this game on an original Mega Drive/ Genesis or KEGA, and you'll notice the difference. This has nothing to do with lossy compression.

  • @porcorosso81 Ohhh, sorry I misunderstood. I do use Kega to play this game, but add to this video whatever crappy emulator he's using as well as YouTubes compression and the differences are much more noticable.

  • very good game

  • music O_O it fucking cool

  • Well the intro is the same as Turrican 3, except for the fact that the girl in the intro has blonde hair instead of light blue hair.

  • Ok I googled it, it seems that Turrican 2 was never released for the sega console, that's why they named the third game "Mega Turrican" in order to avoid numbering confusion.

  • Well, T2 was bastardised by accolade and released as 'Universal soldier'.

  • I still hope someone rehacks that one into Turrican II someday. Unfortunately there's not much people interested and I myself don't have the skills to do it.

  • Looks exactly like Turrican 3 on Amiga.

I guess they gave it a different name for the Mega Drive.

    Great game though.

  • The Mega Drive version is actually the original version. They just took it and renamed it "Turrican 3".

And it does not look exactly like t§. It has more colours and parallax layers.

  • wow you replied to my 1 year old comment hehe

  • Uh, yeah? It stands right there for everyone to read. Or are you trying to tell me that the things you said 1 year ago are worth shit now? hehe

  • @porcorosso81 Kaiko wanted to create a dedicated T3 for Amiga and signed a contract with R.A. to do so. But Factor 5 was the ©holder of Turrican and forced Kaiko to do a conversion of MegaTurrican (<was in progress). T3 had also to fit on 1 disk an run with 512kb only. Due to the short time and the fact that some things couldn't be done easily on amiga without good coding skills, T3 is what it is: Not as good as it could have been. Kaiko originally wanted to beat Lionheart with T3.
