  • AMAZING PERSONALITY!!!

  • @Attitudex2xoxo awww thank you!

  • Thanks to you I was finally able to braid my daughter's hair myself! I have been paying a lot of money for this and simply can't afford to keep it up anymore, so I had to try! I can't believe how good I'm getting quickly thanks to your simple teaching. No one can tell which ones were the ones I paid for and which ones I've done!

  • @Chocochilita Awesome!

  • Your video was a great tutorial. The best I have seen. You also have a very likable personality which helps me learn as well. Thank you very much for your video.

  • @ThisVictorious1 Thank you so much for the nice comment! I hope your braids turn out great!

  • still braiding !

  • Oh God! You are a life saver. I am doing individual box braids with extensions for the first time and my hair is like your lenght. I have been searching videos the past two days. I am in the middle of braiding now and struggling. Thank you so much! This was very helpful.

  • I have wanted to know how to learn to braid for a long time and you showed me thank you so much!!! :D

  • Thank you SO MUCH for slowly going over the process and really breaking it down. This is the best hair braiding with extensions tutorial that I've seen on YT.

  • Thank you so much for this video! You literally just saved me 80+ dollars at a salon !

  • OMG! this helped me alot !!!!!

  • i just big chop my hair a few days ago and i had done kinky twists 3 times on my twa and it looked nice but was slipping off so i plan on doing this style with the marley hair i have but since you had a twa,how many packs of hair did you use because i only got 3 packs on me

  • My braids starting falling off after like only few weeks. why is that? and they like started sliding down an inch and now they just looks messy on the top of my head.

  • My hair is maybe an inch and a half how long do I need my own hair to be before I get my kinky's

  • @MuzikalSoul try braiding at 2.5 inches if it doesnt work wait will its a little longer. If you are doing it yourself its more about skill level. some people can braid very short hair and other cant (they just need more practice._

  • So I asked bunches of times on carious sites but got 0responses. Can I use synthetic hair extensions?

  • @IamLEGION4weRmany When you ask can you use it do you mean that your hair is not afro curly and you want to know if you can use synthetic hair?

  • @lyndaespratley my hair is natural curls and waves and dries puffy but soft and only needs a blow dryer to straighten my hair is in two layers top half 6inch and bottom 8-12 inch. I dont know if it will hold

  • k so i stumbled upon this video, and i just got my hair done a couple weeks ago, me and my sis kinda just guessed how to do it. it turns out we did my hair like you did, but now im running into a problem. some of the braids have loosened and are about a half inch away from my scalp :( and seem to be getting worse. any suggestions on how to keep it close to my scalp? the only thing we didnt do was soak the hair in vinegar. mayb the prob is cuz i have fine hair? any good tips? thanks

  • @zimminator90 if you have fine hair and use this type of hair, I use it is kind of heavy. so its prob just cause you have fine hair, make sure you keep your fingers close to the hair as you braid it

  • it is so cutee just adorable:)

  • Super cute and very helpful. Thanks!

  • i am having trouble keeping the connecting the braiding hair to my head.

  • Your so cute! Thanks for the tutorial- gonna try this weekend

  • @250scorpio82 aww thanks and have fun, good luck!

  • @lyndaespratley you helped me sae my money and hair from visitung those african braiding shops! i experience serious damage recenlty and decided it was time for me to take my hair into my own hands! i spen 1.99 each on two packs of hair and i had gel at home! now thats whats up!

  • thanks so much u saved my life

  • wow thanks for this video idk why i was always thinking braiding with extensions was hard. I've known how to braid and cornrow for years w/o extensions but after seeing this you made it look so simple i started running around my hair looking for hair i can practice with lol I've put in two practice braids and they look great so next weekend i will be doing my own micros and from here on out as well thank you sooo much for this tutorial this is a huge money saver for me!!!

  • @taubreena So glad to hear that you will be able to save money, that is always a good thing!

  • no lie, your tutorial was the best i've seen so far. it was so easy to understand! thanks for this!

  • I learned how to braid my hair by watching your video.... Thank you

  • @rekita87 me too n i thought that it would be hard turn out to be easy :)

  • For years I've been wanting to do my own braided styles. And since I now have the courage I'd been searching for starting techniques that work for me and this video was awesome. Even with different hair (I had the straight) I was still able to visualize what you did and do it myself . I have just SUCCESSFULLY completed my first individual braid. I love the way it looks natural and doesn't pull at the hair. And for a person with breakage this is important. Can't wait to show my accomplishment. Ty

  • @lyndaespratley do you do your whole head when you do extensions cuz i have trouble trying to braid it all my self

  • THANK YOU!!! no more paying ppl lls

  • My hair has gotten really grey over the years and it seems to be very thin. How can I make my braids look more fuller and thnx so much 4 your videos:)

  • @AfroPuffs64 You can try braiding with more hair and splitting up one section and adding it to your hair earlier . And twist can give the illusion of a fuller look

  • Thanks SOO much for dis vid .. for like a while i've known how to braid hair but dint knw how to start it off .. so i jus randomly decided to check out youtube & your vid helped me sooo much .. Thank you :)

  • Thank you so much for this video. I could never figure out how to braid fake hair into my hair until this video.

  • hey i wanted to ask you im a guy who is getting braids right now

they will probably reach down my collar but i want them to reach down

to my chest you know a lil longer so would it be okay if i added extensions

to the end of my hair to make them longer?? please get back at me soon.

  • @juankr212 You can braid your hair with extensions to make them longer. Depending on the type of hair you can usually find different lengths of hair in the store

  • very helpful. you're very pretty too.

  • Thanks too you..i put a kinky twist back in my head all by myself when it came out lol i'm proud of myself ....THANKS ((:

  • to much talking jus go straight to the point but thank you

  • thank you! now i know how to braid hair!

  • Thanks for the video but you talk way to much

  • How well do the braids stay in?

  • Thank you baby girl

  • Thank you!!!!! Your video saved my life, im off to a party tomorrow and some of my braids came out, watched this video and I have redone most of my head! Thank you! <3 xxxx

  • I have a really hard time getting the extension to stay next to the scalp. It wants to slide down the hair a bit and gives a loose braid. How can I correct that?

  • GREAT TUTORIAL. Thank you for the video. And thanks for NOT hiding your fingers while you braid. Other videos that I've viewed, you can't see the braiding because their fingers are in the way. THANKS AGAIN GIRL. GREAT WORK.

  • for caucasian hair.. do you need the gel or straighten it any more? anythin else that needs to be done different?Y

  • omg thank you soooo much i always thought i was doing it wrong but i've been reassured. i gotta convince my mom to let me do braids myself and that i won't jack them up!

  • How long does my hair have to be before I can braid my hair? I have a twa of about an inch and a half or so.

  • this really helps alot . good job.

  • OMG I actually did it. lol and I finally figured out why I was doing it wrong smh Thank you so much for this video!

  • U're awesome for the first time in ma life I hve made it not perfect but am thrilled :)

  • Ur awesome for the frst time in ma lfe I made braids good tutorial:)

  • wow

  • thnk u soo much i finally can braid my hair.

  • okay so, i have a suggestion for you guys...

i reccomend that you just dip it in boiling water. It is best to use synthetic hair for braids like this so that the hair will melt into place. you can also curl it by rolling it with a roller at the ends as you would nomal hair and then you just do the same thing. Burning the ends isn't as good because they dont look as natural and they kinda hurt becasue you can scratch your self on accident. if you have any questions you can e-mail me.

  • how old are you?

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! You have no idea how incredibly useful I found this. Merci encore, Cherie!

  • its been over a year since i first watched your video. iv been natural ever since wearing these braids i learned how to do from your video. iv finally grown the fro of my dreams and i rock it in between braiding sessions

so i wanted to thank you again for your instructional video b/c i'v not had a bad hair day in forever!

  • very helpful..thanks...

  • thanks you explained very well

  • I have to tell you that I learned how to do my daughters braids b/c of your video. It has saved us so much time going to the salon and not to mention money! Thank you so much Ms. Lynda. Yes, you are da bomb!

  • I did it! Well I didn't do my whole head, but I did one braid yesterday and your method worked. Thanks so much for the tut

  • you are the bomb

  • Thank u, thank u, thank u. Very well done. I love this. That was so nice of you to take time to share. Love the humor too. ;-D

  • the video was really helpful but my only problem is i cant get the fake hair tight enough around my real hair and it keeps slipping off is that why you use the gel to make it stick ?

  • This is a great video, I tried to do it .. i already had briads in but i decided to remove one and try... well it took forever but i got it done. Major problem was the plait/ braid was on a side .. it kept twisting . But i am sure with practise i would be a PRO>

  • Oh thanks , i always wanted to know how they did it. In Saint Lucia, They use Bees wax instead of Gel..

  • This was great! I am going to try this right now! Thanks girl!

  • Thanks VERY VERY much I was looking for that long time ago!!! :D

  • Also the part two as just as wonderful as this part one....

Maybe one day I can master the senegalese twists one day

also is the alkaline base a bad thing?

  • Most people have a reactive to the alkaline base, which causes irritation to the skin. So yes, it's ususally a bad thing.

  • I meant reaction and usually... XD

  • you should add kinky twist to your tags so others can find it.....cause it is very informative and clear.....thank you so much...i just want others who are trying to do these can learn.....tooo ;)

  • I' so happy I found your video...I saw it a while ago when I need to re braid a few kinky twists and now I'm going to do my whole head and I been looking for your video becasue your video is very instruction and the directions are clear.....I' subscribing to you definently....

thanks for this vid..its the best video on how to do kinky twists :)

  • When you put the braid or twist on the rod and dip it in boiling hot water,do you then take the hair off of the rod,or do you let the hair sit on the rod for a while?

  • i like for it to sit for a min or two

  • I'm having the same problem as WondaWoman. I did my daughter's hair just the way the video says with the same hair and it was tight for a day or 2 and now not anymore. How do I get it to stay tight? Is there something I can spray on it or put on it to keep them tight?

  • My problem is not being able to get the extensions in tight enough.. after 2 days, the roots look sos fuzzy, its like it was done two weeks ago! Argg! Help! How do we do it TIGHTLY!

  • try the other method on my channel sengelese method

  • I was wondering..... can you do a tutorial on doing cornrows with extensions.... I've tried to do it based on the principles you taught in this tutorial but i can't seem to get the braid to start at the front of my hairline.... it's about an inch off...???

  • Thank you very much for this video. I"m trying to learn how to plait up my own hair like this, and you video was very helpful!

  • wow, you are very very beautiful

  • I love this technique! You make it sooo simple. Thanks!

  • I have question, so you do not even part your hair??

  • WOW Thanks this is a great video very helpful

    I have question though:

after braiding till the ends you said you can either burn the ends or dip in hot water etc but what about 'tying a knot' for the ends I don't know if you will understand what I mean but basically like when you 'pick and drop'

  • there is an african knot technique but i do not know it, just search on here and you might find it

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH.......... I have been searching everywhere for a tutorial that would teach me how to braid hair...... Yours is "so easy a caveman can do it" :D... THANKS A BUNCH it was really helpful. I'll try and post what it looks like when i'm finished

  • Great video, I've also seen a lot of videos on braiding, and I agree you are one of the best. I have been wondering how to seperate the hair into three strands, thank you for explaining that. This was very helpful.

  • Today alone I've seen at least 20 videos on this, and this has to be the best one yet! Most of them were hard to see (hands hands in the way) and this was just perfect! Thank you! I've been searching for weeks!

  • Thanks for posting, this is great. I've wanting to braid my hair for so long. Maybe I'll do it this summer.

  • THANK YOU for such a clear tutorial and explanation! I've been trying to teach myself how to do the extensions, but they never looked right. Watching your video helped me see what I was doing that was making them uneven. Also, your other video has inspired me to try the twists sometimes too! Thanks again!

  • thank you so much for making this video you made it so much easier! you saved us so much money me and a friend are doing our other friends hair! youre awesome!

  • Thanks! This is really helpful! :)

  • so how long dose your hair have to be? mine is almost an inch is that to short

  • long enough to fit in the anchor braid so i guess 2-3 would be a good anchor to make sure you have no slippage

  • how do you make sure it stays ontight

  • when you start braiding you can pull on one of the strands to tighten it a bit and make sure youare braiding with your hands close to the braid

  • You are so pretty. Thanks for the tutorial.

  • thanks!!

  • do you have to soak the hair in vinegar

  • no this is only if you have very sensitive scalp

  • im doing the crown and glory technique now. i hope it works

  • THANX 4 this video i needed it big time!!

  • omg this video is amazing!your technique is so clear and simple..thanks!=D

  • thank you so much im doing good and wonderful with the braiding thank you so much

  • I love your videos. Thank you for helping me. Young ladys like you is why I went natural. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace in life and in your natural hair journey.

  • thanks for this video :D I`ve done it with my own hair, it is so hard to weave long braid`s...

  • oooooh! I bought that type of hair and tried to braid with it. Now I see I'm not the only one who can't separate it like that, it's not meant to be separated. thanks!

  • can you please post a video of you soaking and drying the hair. I know when I braid the hair seems to get tangled and I want to know the correct way before a waste a pack of hair.lol

  • I am not sure when I will be doing kinky twist again so just make sure you are soaking them in the cold water mixture, spray with with plenty of leave in conditioner when you hang them to dry and use a spot like your shower rod so they can spread out

  • thank you so much

  • this video was sooo helpful i have done hair like this more than once and then i got them right ur tips r soo helpful

  • I love your sense of humor! I've been meaning to put extensions in for quite some time now. I might just break down and do it myself so thank you for the video! It's extremely helpful and inspiring! The Marley braid is expensive (The beauty supply I went to) but your outcome was so gorgeous, I just might get that kind the next time around.

    Again, thank you!

  • could white people do this too because there hair is alot finer and stuff just do it the same way?

  • i know you can i would just research online on it more for white hair and not leave it in that long

  • thanks

  • out of all the video tut. i seens this one is the best and really show how to braid and it the way you did it had personality great job 5 stars

  • youre awesome, i love your personality!

  • THANK UUUUUUUUU

  • Thank you so much very helpful didn't know it is a good idea to dip hair in vinegar to remove allkaline in hair.TAke care and keep them coming.

  • This is a great tutorial very helpful I have been trying to teach my friend to braid in my hair i do my own edges but she does the back, so thank you this was very helpful.

  • damn she's pretty with braids

  • Thnks so much for the tutorial!! I just did it with the hair of a doll and it worked LOL! Can't wait to try it out on my own hair ;-D Thnx!!

  • I can't wait to try this out. Thanks for the post.

  • I donno about that technique... I'm almost certain that those braids would slip out... do they?

  • i dont deal with any slippage. I just make sure the anchor braid is tight and secure, (not tight to my scalp but tightly braided)

  • Thanks girl..i just watched ur vid and "experimented" on my 13-yr-old daughter! It turned out fabulous...just in time for back to school!

  • thanks so much. it was very helpful

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VID! I've been wondering how this is done. I'm going to try this weekend!

  • THANKYOU!! I'm gonna save a lot of money with this. <3 great video!

  • Does the ACV rinse change the texture of the extension hair?

Do you use ACV rinse when your hair is braided when you wash your hair?

  • Thx for this great video. You r so clear & pleasant in ur vids! I like the idea of washing extension hair w/ diluted vinegar ... esp since I am avoiding chemicals. Vinegar is great for this & the scent disappears once it dries. Thanks for the great suggesetion. White vinegar is great for washing new clothes (esp colors). It sets the color & get rid of chemicals used in processing similar to what it does for the synthetic. Why didn't I think of that? LOL!

  • so true

  • if you put a link to my channel on your page sure

  • You braid really good where are you from and i want single braids but i don't like the tips burned is there a hair type or are you suppose to let the kankelon hair soak n hot water

  • i am from Georgia. you can put rods on the ends and then dip them

  • thnks im usin dis video to teach my mom how to do mine because she doesnt wanna pay $200.00 to get it done at the african braiding shop this year

  • Gurk i dont know who you are but thank u for making this video!!!! =D

  • please don't call me stupid but why do u clean the hair? i am asking because the braiding shops don't do it.

  • after you remove the hair from the water do you rinse it with cold, warm or hot water?

  • I use cool water and vinegar, first I wish I didnt say it wrong in the first place and then i rinse it with cold or cool water

  • Does this method hold the braids tight at the root?

  • this is a secure method the tightness is all in who braids it and how tight they do it, i never had a problem though

  • Very good instructions..i've been needing this! Your nails are really pretty...very natural.

  • yeah I dont think I have one, what does it sound like, southern?

  • so is braids the same as a plat?

  • yes

  • but in this vid i dont get it sry i only colour hair... lol im a kid so this is how u do cornrows? or can u help me on cornrowing pls?

  • This video and part 2 were very helpful. And wow...you look a lot like me. Wooo, internet look-alikes! After seeing the pics of you in the kinky twists I decided to try them since they look so good on you :) I'll post pics when their done, hehe!

  • Thank you

    God Bless You !

  • i just bought lock and twist a week ago. i'm about to try and braid my daughters hair. i went natural feb 15 and i made a video on my page.

  • thanks for posting the vid. I also learned from growafro hair. I haven't tried soaking the hair though? have you noticed a difference? many people want to learn and some that know how don't want to share their knowledge. BTw your complexion is great!
