I had one of these until the damn firewire blew last month. Been quoted nearly £500 by Canon UK to replace the main board as firewire is part of it. Apart from that it's a superb camera. However I won't be replacing it with anything that relies on firewire to link to a pc.

On the second clip you say the original footage is 1920X1080. I always thought this HV20 does 1080i which is 1440X1080??

That is correct... it s IS 1440x1080.... but it is displayed at 1920x1080
