Yes, ducks are instinctive to water. PLEASE realize that in a bathtub, there is no way to EXIT the water. SAD BUT TRUE, people have put baby ducks in water and they wore out and DROWNED! because they cannot fly out of the tub or exit the tub in anyway. please agsin, it is like a child, you would not leave your baby in the tub and go away, do not leave your baby cducklings.

If you are thinking of getting fresh eggs as well as a pet, buy ducks not chickens. Ducks are much less maintainance, they leave less of a mess and they know when enough food is enough. I don't know why people buy Chickens, they are ugly birds and a waste of time. They will eat, eat and eat and their poo is a solid mess and its not easy to clean. Ducks poo can be hosed away without a trace. Only drawback is ducks run away from you by instinct but you get used to that. Trust me.

@icametorock1 Its quite easy to clean actually, all you do is use a jet of water to wash it away and bleach it down afterwards. Duck poop isn't solid or acidic, it breaks up like dust when its washed so it falls down the drain and doesn't leave a trace. It depends mainly on what you feed them because we had 2 ducks from chicks, 1 has sadly died but we still have our white one left. We had 2 chickens but they had to go because they were really really messy and high maintainance.

@icametorock1 When our ducks were small ducklings we fed them ground up chicken mix which was corn and other bits but ground into an ultra-fine dust. That made the poo easy to clean and now that we got rid of the chickens, we feed our duck the leftover grey chicken pellets. Its fine to feed them the grey pellets as ducks will eat almost anything (Ours does) but it also makes the poop very easy to clean and more hygenic. What on earth were you feeding them? White Bread or road tarmac? Lol
