SLO sucks. The new chow hall they put in was kind of bad, but at least the barracks are pretty legit. Before we leave we always rearrange the rocks on the hill with the eagle on it with our unit numbers. It's been a while since I've been back there, the ocean breeze isn't bad though.
Yah these guys had it way to easy. We at UWF went to Camp Shelby, MS for our FTX. They made us stay outside due to the fact its the jump off point to Iraq and all barracks were slammed full of the groups headed over there. We did get to have Blackhawks fly us around Pensacola and landed at UWF so it was cool. In the middle the DHL guy musta been freaked seeing so many guys in uniform headed at him:) haha Nice scenery in Cali! Not like that in Florida! Thanks!
I gotta admit, you guys are lucky to take a chinook as the person above we set up patrol bases outside at all times but the main advantage we got over all the other ROTC is that our ftx's are at Fort Lewis, aka Palomas
you guys are lucky. We have to take buses up to Camp Blanding. Never got to take a Chinook anywhere. Must be really fun. We also never get to stay indoors for rest. always outside in a patrol base.
