Sorry for commenting so much, but that flu lasted 6 days and I stuck to a strict Flat Sprite and saltine cracker diet through the entire experience and one of those days I went to school and It was terrible. Terrible.
Continuing from below- Turn on the news, and see that the same plane I went on less than a day ago just had an roof problem causing the plane to go down and the airlines being shut down for a week. My story may be a little not as bad as most but it was pretty sad for me.
SPRING BREAK 2011:I went on a plane, caught a pretty bad cold when I got to AZ. Pretty much ruined the Yummy Arizona food experience for me. After my previous cold cleared up I got on a plane back home to the lovely and 40 degrees less Minnesota. I get home, get THE FLU. Ending my not missing a day of school-streak and giving me the flu that made me lay in my bed all day unable to stand up due to weakness and the worst headache ever.

Why on earth would you pack your mac book in checked luggage? valuables medicines, personal things, keys always go in your carry on luggage, just to be safe! Those other issues happen with all airlines and ground crew, fueling companies and the catering company. You were on a delta jet but your situation was not entirely their fault.
Dude one bad experince can just change the while thing! Imagine delta did something wrong and they had a accidnet, then not as much people will go on it will they? One mstake and it's just gone!
just because you had one bad experience doesn't mean that the whole airline is terrible, and that people should not fly delta because you had one bad day

My girlfriend is stuck in Detroit right now, because Delta flight 2820 from Detroit to Manchester, NH was cancelled. Was is cancelled because of weather? NO...it was cancelled because there was NO PILOT TO FLY THE PLANE!!!!!!!! How can that happen? Isn't having a pilot lined up to fly the plane just basic airline logistics? She didn't even get comped...no hotel, no travel voucher, NOTHING....they just said "deal with it"...DELTA SUCKS!!

I can't vouch for Phil not carrying his computer with him on the plane, as I would, but still! And my worst airline experience. Almost the same as Phil's. Plane got delayed, and got home at midnight, not 7:00 pm.

But the fact is, it often takes thousands of dollars to fly on a plane, but they treat you like you are using a free service and you get what you pay for. When I wet to Italy, someone through themselves on the train line and killed themselves. Then had to get a different train to amchester, then a tram to the airport, then a taxi to the building, then we got to check in exactly on time. But we had to get a plane to London from manchester. We had to wait 6 hours for the next plane to Italy!!! You know how boring it is at the airport for tw hours, Imagine 6
ok so i got up at 4 in the mrning to go fly to dc. my plane gets delayed 30 min. not 2 bad. 2hr later they tell us that it the flight was cancelled. 1 1/2 later they board us on a plane to toronto. we get thr. and the flight where i was going to germany left. it was the only one of the day. had to spend the night in the shittiest best western evr. then when we get to the airport. we get on our plane and its also delayed. we fly to germany, and we finally get there. but they lose our luggage FUC
@egyptsux1 then right before we leave to go on our flight to algeria my home counrty they give us the luggage. problem is its all ripped up and half my stuff is missing. nothing else happens from then except for the fact that we go to algeria. haha
Had to wait hours on a plane behind some guy who kept singing songs in protest to the fact the plane wasn't leaving yet, which not only didn't make it leave faster, just made me feel like stabbing myself with the airplane chair arm or something. Then when we arrived we couldn't get our bags because the reason they were taking so long is because they were taking all of our bags off the plane because some guy had left a blown up flotation device in their luggage. So all of our bags were ages away.
I've never ridden in an airplane before (that I remember), but I remember my mom was 7 months pregnant with my sister, I was about a year old. They showed up, there was a delay in their previous flight, and they told her to run as it was just about to leave.
Once she got there, they told her they were holding the flight for her, and woulda sent something to pick her up.
.. then lost her luggage. Then found it, just as they were going home.
Spirit airlines is the cheapest airline in the world (I'm guessing)...the city bus has better service. I know it's my fault that I took 2 sleeping pills after eating chili fries at the airport and had to barf on the plane, but it is the responsibility of the airline to have a barf bag. I had to use the Air Mall magazine. They even charge you for your carry on luggage. Will never fly with them again.
my brother was coming home so he could go to his wedding and the airport lost the most important thing he brought his blues (he is in the marines and was getting married in his blues) it sucked hard
When you travel there is always risk for delays, and food shorteges, and mishandled luggage. Too bad Phil doesn't travel enough to know that. Sh!t happens, get over it. Seasoned travelers know this.
Truely delta is my favorite airline. I hate fluid continental they treat me like shit! I guarentee that there are worst airlines. I'm even flying delta to hong kong
A few years ago i was in denver during a snowstorm, my plane gets delayed for a DAY AND A HALF, I have to go back through security afterwards, walk through the metal detector, it goes off, and they do the little wand thing, it takes 20 minutes for me to go. When i landed, they lost ALL 8 bags of luggage my family had. They ended up on a transcontinental flight to HUNGARY!
my worst airplane story was when i had to go on a plane. that for some reason couldn't fly. so i had to catch another plane. that would take off 15 hours later. 15 FUCKING HOURS later. the people there we're all like. "we're sorry we're at capacity" so after i walked away about 50 or so people got in for some reason and i didn't get to. so i had to wait another for hours. and then FINALLY i got on the plane. it got delayed. for an hour.

Was going to visit my girl and the 1st plane had a 30min delay due to snow, the second plane got delayed for mechanical failure, for 7 hours. 3rd flight left the gate right when I got there. They said next flight wasnt till the next morning and gave a list of hotels . But, they wanted me to pay for the hotel, and the taxi to/from the hotel. As an added bonus, that flight at 0800 in the morning was canceled cause "the plane was cold", and I didnt leave the airport till around 2PM.
Oh my God! My sister and I watch "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" ALL the time! Chiller Channel is amazing! My favorite is the one with the homeless lady, the guy gets mugged, gets a super hero costume and when the same guys try to mug him again, he throws them twenty feet away and it turned out to be true. I love that guy!

yea delta does suck, i flew them one time and the seats are uncomfortable and then they have the like personal tvs and mine wasnt working so i told the stewardess and he was like oh too bad and i was wtf 7 hours with nothing to watch and then it was a red eye and they never turned the over head lights off so finally the person next to ask to turn them off and they were lke you want them off? ok, so yes bad experience with delta never fly with them, the only good part was they had a hot stewardes
Delta's security took my brand-new external harddrive from the bin, asked if it was a harddrive, then THREW IT DOWN into the bin after I said yes. Delta refused to help, and the support operator said "we're not liable for the actions of our employees." Seriously.

Worst airplane story? First, our flight home was cancelled, because the plane had issues, so we were stuck in an airport for 12hours, then we FINALLY got on a different flight that left at like 11pm, then we found that THIS plane had issues, but whoever the airline was realized that they had an extra plane or something- after 2 hours of sitting on the plane. So we get off the plane, sit in the waiting area for an hour, and we finally get home. Then we realize my mother's suitcase is missing.
QOTD: i was 4 and flying alone, the impoyes were supposted to watch me but they left me on the plain and i went from santa fe (were i was supposted to be) to new york city! all theway there 8 hours, all alone

well there tons of bad stories at airports. well, i was about 4 years old. my dad, by brother and i wanted to go from tokyo (where i lived) to my grammas place which in germany, cause my dad is german. so we landed in frankfurt and waited for the transfer flight, which should have left about an hour after our long flight arrived, so we had to run. for some reason it was delayed by 6 fuckin` hours, nothing to eat at all (it changed now). how can you do that to a 4-year-old after a 12-hour flight?
its not mine but there was a guy that alomost missed his fight on september 11, 2001 and they held the plain for him but they had to make a permanent stop at the twin towers
my worst airplane experience i almost died or would of gotten abducted i got on the wrong plane i was 2 years old so i crawled right passed everyone my parents haden't realized until they got on there plane so they had to make my plane turn around and ruined everyone else's day :)

And the only story I've had with airplanes that's sucked was when our plane was overbooked, so I had to stay behind, no luggage, in a city I had never been to before (I had a transfer). The flight I was SUPPOSED to be on was at around nine at night, and the new flight that they booked for me was at six in the morning. By the time I got to the hotel, sleeping would've screwed me over, so I watched TV.
Was stuck in an airplane for 8 hours in Bangkok because the princess was landing there. Oh, and we didn't get any food either. And my brother has diabetes. Yeah, he was there too.
Its just horrible when you think your not scared of flying, and there was this flight to the dominic republic with the most horrifying turbulence, zomg people started screaming, omfggg so terrifying!!!! ahhh i remember it now, such shaking and woobbling .!!!
me, my mom, dad and bro went to Boston & Maine.i got a box of blueberry mix w/ a can of Maine blueberries. they didn't have the right terminal on our tickets so we had to run to the other side of the airport to find out that they needed a bigger plane because apparently they didn't know that before hand. then they moved our seats around (there were 20 of us I went on a class trip) but they had to do that for all 400 people on the plane. then they fuel the new plane because they forgot and I was on a 10 hour flight
with no macbook, a broken tv. next to a sick lady who couldn't speak english, and it was an over night flight so there were loud snooring old people who leaned back into my lap so I couldn't go to the bathroom for a 10 hour flight.
i went to alb airport sat at the gate for 4 hours and then they tell us the plane is broken the only other flight to san diego wasnt till the next day. we fly out. on our way back we stood in check in line for and hour then we miss our flight cuz the security line was three hours long no flight till the next day. its at noon so we get there at 7 cuz we had to take some one else didnt leave till 1:30. delta sucks monkey fuck.
I'm fairly lucky I guess, just a string of weird events, nothing ruined. Back in liek 2004 when we had that massive blackout in the northeast/midwest United States, I was supposed to fly to the Dominican. Well the plane coming from NY was obviously delayed, and here in cleveland we didnt have power.
When we got power, there was an electrical fire in the terminal next to mine, which added another hour (it was minor but the area had to be cleared)
i was flying to kentucky for the summer and i had a 11:00 flight time, then, they said the plane was delayed......for 4 hours. i had to sit there with no food, no nothing in the middle of the night, and when i finnaly got on the plane, all they had for food was peanuts.
When I was 12 years old, I was going to go see my dad for the first time in two years. He lives in Florida and I live in California. I went to LAX 3 1/2 hours early, AND MISSED MY FLIGHT. I had to wait 5 hours and they tried to charge us $100 extra because they needed to assign me someone to take me to a different side of the Airport in TX to get on the flight to Tampa. My mom missed a whole day of work and I missed a whole day with my dad...
i get tickets to california with fucking delta they give me a ticket for 7:30 in the morning i get there i have to wait 4 hours to get to the airport and i have to wait 7 hours when the y tell me that the plane didn't have three airline attendents so they say come back in 8 hours so i do and get on the plane again and when i get off the plane a purse was blocking the baggage so it took another 4 hours fuck delta

i actually worked for a small airline here in Arizona like 2 years ago well i was supposed to go for training in denver so i flew from the small town that i live in to phoenix and i was supposed to connect to our sister airline and fly to denver well the douche bag who made my ticket made it wrong so i had to sit at the terminal for 8 hours to see if there was a free seat available on any of the out going flights well there was not so i sat there doing nothing for 8 hours ending up flying back.
ok so my mom and i were in middle east, the flight from there 2 germany was fine(besides the mnmiddle eastern pilot). when we got 2 germany the flight was delayed for 4 hours, we got to new york, misted out flight becuase of the previous delay, had 2 wait another day, then had 2 be flown 2 L.A. and (this is apperently all our fault) and we had 2 rent a hotel for a night, then we finally got home
ROFL the same thing happend to me Phil, i was going from Toronto to winnipeg, the flight was overfueled and over weighted, had to take the luggage off and flight anyways and it was like 2-3 hours delay and had to stay another night in winnipeg without new clothes.(and i couldnt go in the pool :( )
I fly US Airways. $237.80 for a 2-way flight from Houston to Boston, Boston to Houston. 5 hour flights. Great staff. Love them. sory i r always got good flight storys
i waas on delta was coming back from japan back to usa took 2 hours for are play to show up and hour and 30 mins to get all people off 30 more mins to put gas in it 40 mins to get us on the plane and then 50 mins to get us going an din the air then 11 hours to get us home lol
i was flying united from witchita to denver then from denver home and when we were spose to be taking off from witchita our plane was starting its one hour journey to our air port so by the time we got to denver we mised our other flight by 45 minits so we were sitting at the denver air port for over six hours. we finaly got on the plane at 12:00 and left at 12:30 and it was a 2 hour flight!

When I wet to Italy, someone through themselves on the train line and killed themselves. Then had to get a different train to amchester, then a tram to the airport, then a taxi to the building, then we got to check in exactly on time. But we had to get a plane to London from manchester. We had to wait 6 hours for the next plane to Italy!!! You know how boring it is at the airport for tw hours, Imagine 6

ok so i got up at 4 in the mrning to go fly to dc. my plane gets delayed 30 min. not 2 bad. 2hr later they tell us that it the flight was cancelled. 1 1/2 later they board us on a plane to toronto. we get thr. and the flight where i was going to germany left. it was the only one of the day. had to spend the night in the shittiest best western evr. then when we get to the airport. we get on our plane and its also delayed. we fly to germany, and we finally get there. but they lose our luggage FUC

Had to wait hours on a plane behind some guy who kept singing songs in protest to the fact the plane wasn't leaving yet, which not only didn't make it leave faster, just made me feel like stabbing myself with the airplane chair arm or something. Then when we arrived we couldn't get our bags because the reason they were taking so long is because they were taking all of our bags off the plane because some guy had left a blown up flotation device in their luggage. So all of our bags were ages away.

I've never ridden in an airplane before (that I remember), but I remember my mom was 7 months pregnant with my sister, I was about a year old. They showed up, there was a delay in their previous flight, and they told her to run as it was just about to leave.
Once she got there, they told her they were holding the flight for her, and woulda sent something to pick her up.
.. then lost her luggage. Then found it, just as they were going home.

Spirit airlines is the cheapest airline in the world (I'm guessing)...the city bus has better service. I know it's my fault that I took 2 sleeping pills after eating chili fries at the airport and had to barf on the plane, but it is the responsibility of the airline to have a barf bag. I had to use the Air Mall magazine. They even charge you for your carry on luggage. Will never fly with them again.

A few years ago i was in denver during a snowstorm, my plane gets delayed for a DAY AND A HALF, I have to go back through security afterwards, walk through the metal detector, it goes off, and they do the little wand thing, it takes 20 minutes for me to go. When i landed, they lost ALL 8 bags of luggage my family had. They ended up on a transcontinental flight to HUNGARY!

my worst airplane story was when i had to go on a plane. that for some reason couldn't fly. so i had to catch another plane. that would take off 15 hours later. 15 FUCKING HOURS later. the people there we're all like. "we're sorry we're at capacity" so after i walked away about 50 or so people got in for some reason and i didn't get to. so i had to wait another for hours. and then FINALLY i got on the plane. it got delayed. for an hour.

Was going to visit my girl and the 1st plane had a 30min delay due to snow, the second plane got delayed for mechanical failure, for 7 hours. 3rd flight left the gate right when I got there. They said next flight wasnt till the next morning and gave a list of hotels . But, they wanted me to pay for the hotel, and the taxi to/from the hotel. As an added bonus, that flight at 0800 in the morning was canceled cause "the plane was cold", and I didnt leave the airport till around 2PM.

Oh my God! My sister and I watch "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" ALL the time! Chiller Channel is amazing! My favorite is the one with the homeless lady, the guy gets mugged, gets a super hero costume and when the same guys try to mug him again, he throws them twenty feet away and it turned out to be true. I love that guy!

yea delta does suck, i flew them one time and the seats are uncomfortable and then they have the like personal tvs and mine wasnt working so i told the stewardess and he was like oh too bad and i was wtf 7 hours with nothing to watch and then it was a red eye and they never turned the over head lights off so finally the person next to ask to turn them off and they were lke you want them off? ok, so yes bad experience with delta never fly with them, the only good part was they had a hot stewardes

Delta's security took my brand-new external harddrive from the bin, asked if it was a harddrive, then THREW IT DOWN into the bin after I said yes. Delta refused to help, and the support operator said "we're not liable for the actions of our employees." Seriously.

Worst airplane story? First, our flight home was cancelled, because the plane had issues, so we were stuck in an airport for 12hours, then we FINALLY got on a different flight that left at like 11pm, then we found that THIS plane had issues, but whoever the airline was realized that they had an extra plane or something- after 2 hours of sitting on the plane. So we get off the plane, sit in the waiting area for an hour, and we finally get home. Then we realize my mother's suitcase is missing.

worst airplane experience.. hmmm 9 hours without food... terible turbulance and funny thing is that on the turbulance time there was a cart on the ile... uhhhh was anyone there to put it back hwere it was.. uhh no. so me and this other dude seeing this cart fly back and forth spilling milk and whatever all over people decide to hold it.. smart idea so after about 2 hours of holding the stupid cart the person comes back and yells at us for holding it... oh wow...

well there tons of bad stories at airports. well, i was about 4 years old. my dad, by brother and i wanted to go from tokyo (where i lived) to my grammas place which in germany, cause my dad is german. so we landed in frankfurt and waited for the transfer flight, which should have left about an hour after our long flight arrived, so we had to run. for some reason it was delayed by 6 fuckin` hours, nothing to eat at all (it changed now). how can you do that to a 4-year-old after a 12-hour flight?

And the only story I've had with airplanes that's sucked was when our plane was overbooked, so I had to stay behind, no luggage, in a city I had never been to before (I had a transfer). The flight I was SUPPOSED to be on was at around nine at night, and the new flight that they booked for me was at six in the morning. By the time I got to the hotel, sleeping would've screwed me over, so I watched TV.

me, my mom, dad and bro went to Boston & Maine.i got a box of blueberry mix w/ a can of Maine blueberries. No harm, right? we're late to our flight, it's last call, and the people stop us cause the blueberry muffin mix!their like "you can have the flour but not the berries." my mom said "just keep them." and we left for our fight gate.the people were pretty hefty when we got on the plane, i was angry i had just wasted my$ on that stuff and i say "I hope they enjoy their freaking muffins"

they didn't have the right terminal on our tickets so we had to run to the other side of the airport to find out that they needed a bigger plane because apparently they didn't know that before hand. then they moved our seats around (there were 20 of us I went on a class trip) but they had to do that for all 400 people on the plane. then they fuel the new plane because they forgot and I was on a 10 hour flight

i went to alb airport sat at the gate for 4 hours and then they tell us the plane is broken the only other flight to san diego wasnt till the next day. we fly out. on our way back we stood in check in line for and hour then we miss our flight cuz the security line was three hours long no flight till the next day. its at noon so we get there at 7 cuz we had to take some one else didnt leave till 1:30. delta sucks monkey fuck.

I'm fairly lucky I guess, just a string of weird events, nothing ruined. Back in liek 2004 when we had that massive blackout in the northeast/midwest United States, I was supposed to fly to the Dominican. Well the plane coming from NY was obviously delayed, and here in cleveland we didnt have power.
When we got power, there was an electrical fire in the terminal next to mine, which added another hour (it was minor but the area had to be cleared)

i was flying to kentucky for the summer and i had a 11:00 flight time, then, they said the plane was delayed......for 4 hours. i had to sit there with no food, no nothing in the middle of the night, and when i finnaly got on the plane, all they had for food was peanuts.

When I was 12 years old, I was going to go see my dad for the first time in two years. He lives in Florida and I live in California. I went to LAX 3 1/2 hours early, AND MISSED MY FLIGHT. I had to wait 5 hours and they tried to charge us $100 extra because they needed to assign me someone to take me to a different side of the Airport in TX to get on the flight to Tampa. i actually worked for a small airline here in Arizona like 2 years ago well i was supposed to go for training in denver so i flew from the small town that i live in to phoenix and i was supposed to connect to our sister airline and fly to denver well the douche bag who made my ticket made it wrong so i had to sit at the terminal for 8 hours to see if there was a free seat available on any of the out going flights well there was not so i sat there doing nothing for 8 hours ending up flying back.

ok so my mom and i were in middle east, the flight from there 2 germany was fine(besides the mnmiddle eastern pilot). when we got 2 germany the flight was delayed for 4 hours, we got to new york, misted out flight becuase of the previous delay, had 2 wait another day, then had 2 be flown 2 L.A. and (this is apperently all our fault) and we had 2 rent a hotel for a night, then we finally got home

ROFL the same thing happend to me Phil, i was going from Toronto to winnipeg, the flight was overfueled and over weighted, had to take the luggage off and flight anyways and it was like 2-3 hours delay and had to stay another night in winnipeg without new clothes.(and i couldnt go in the pool :( )

i waas on delta was coming back from japan back to usa took 2 hours for are play to show up and hour and 30 mins to get all people off 30 more mins to put gas in it 40 mins to get us on the plane and then 50 mins to get us going an din the air then 11 hours to get us home lol

i was flying united from witchita to denver then from denver home and when we were spose to be taking off from witchita our plane was starting its one hour journey to our air port so by the time we got to denver we mised our other flight by 45 minits so we were sitting at the denver air port for over six hours. we finaly got on the plane at 12:00 and left at 12:30 and it was a 2 hour flight!
