lol, let me just tell you this, my sulcatta, weighs 20 lbs and my dad ran over it with a 2011 honda civic sedan, and its perfectly fine (obviously, not on purpose).... trust me, this kid is doing no harm whatsoever to this tortoise. with the amount of strength they have, it probably doesnt notice it has a kid on its shell...
That's a great strength and conditioning program you have for those sulcs. HAHAH Mine is only 3 years old but, he's been growing "quickly". I can't wait for him to get that size.
@nobody864 6 inches to a foot off the ground? Are you projecting yourself into the Sulcata's position? Because a sulcata cannot come to the conclusion that what is being done to it is mean. They just see the food and want it. They'll do anything to get it. I don't think its mean.
That same kid (and his little brother) WAS on my back just a few minutes ago. Your rite, it didn't feel too good, but then again, I am a bit older than that turtle.
A child that size cant possibly harm a Sulcata. Little dude would have to seriously jump up and down on the thing or hack at it with an axe before he really harmed it. Your not giving the animal credit for its own strength. I have some nine year old Horsfields tortoises less than a foot long - and they've opened the livingroom doors on their own before. A door being like what, 6 foot of solid wood?
I dread to think what my Sulcata will be able to do at adult size.

So sad...
1. Quit teasing it with the apple.
2. They should rarely eat fruit.
3. They are both pyramiding.
4. You shouldn't be riding tortoises.
